Benetti is Italy’s most prolific superyacht builder, operating from its Livorno and Viareggio yards to produce steel and fibreglass displacement motor yachts spanning 38 metres to over 100 metres, with sixteen yachts chartering in the Bahamas and Caribbean. This breadth makes Benetti the most accessible yard in the region by charter rate, with options for guests at very different budget levels. Rum Cay, positioned in the central Bahamas southeast of Nassau, is a destination that rewards the smaller and more manoeuvrable Benetti hulls as readily as the larger ones, with Port Nelson’s deep harbour accommodating vessels of considerable length and the surrounding reef and wall dive systems providing exceptional underwater conditions. Charter rates for Benetti yachts in the Bahamas range from approximately 95,000 euros per week for smaller fibreglass hulls to well over 500,000 euros for the largest custom steel commissions. An advance provisioning allowance of approximately 30 percent applies. The season is November through May. The Nassau-to-Rum-Cay passage is around 130 nautical miles, a comfortable overnight or long afternoon run on most Benetti hulls. From Rum Cay the itinerary naturally extends to San Salvador, Long Island and Cat Island, each adding a different character to the central Bahamian charter week.
