Belize Charter Itinerary

Belize Itinerary

Belize Yacht Charter
A week along the Belize Barrier Reef, the largest in the northern hemisphere, a wonderland of coral atolls, mangrove cayes and the world-famous Great Blue Hole. This is the Caribbean at its most pristine, empty palm-topped islands, healthy reefs alive with life, and diving of legendary quality. Expect sapphire sinkholes and booby colonies, nurse sharks and clear turquoise water, a barefoot reef adventure.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter anchorage. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

The Barrier Reef

Step aboard off the coast of Belize and sail out to the great barrier reef, anchoring in the lee of a palm-topped caye. Take a first snorkel over vibrant coral as the mainland falls away behind you.
Day 2

Turneffe Atoll

Cruise to the Turneffe Atoll, largest of Belize’s three coral atolls, a ring of mangrove cayes and reefs alive with life. Dive or snorkel the walls, then anchor in a sheltered lagoon for the night.
Day 3

The Blue Hole

Sail to the legendary Great Blue Hole at Lighthouse Reef, a perfect sapphire circle 300 metres across and one of the most famous dives on earth. Dive its depths or take in the view, then snorkel nearby reefs.
Day 4

Lighthouse Reef

Spend the day among the pristine reefs of Lighthouse Reef Atoll, some of the healthiest coral in the Caribbean. Drift over vibrant walls, swim from the deck, and laze on an empty caye.
Day 5

Half Moon Caye

Cruise to the exquisite Half Moon Caye, a protected natural monument and nesting site of the rare red-footed booby, ringed by dazzling sand. Visit the colony, snorkel the reef, and enjoy the seclusion.
Day 6

The Southern Cayes

Sail to the southern cayes, a scattering of tiny palm-topped islands ringed by coral and clear water. Snorkel with nurse sharks and rays, laze on the sand, and savour the barefoot calm.
Day 7

Placencia

The voyage ends near the laid-back peninsula of Placencia in the south, a sleepy village of colourful houses and long sandy beaches. Wander ashore, take a last swim, and toast a week on the reef.
