Ireland: The West Coast Charter Itinerary

Ireland: The West Coast Itinerary

Ireland: The West Coast Yacht Charter
A week up the Wild Atlantic Way, from the gourmet harbour of Kinsale to the ancient Aran Islands, along one of the most dramatic coastlines in Europe. This is Ireland at its most elemental, sea cliffs and monastic pinnacles, hidden bays and windswept islands. Expect fresh seafood and sub-tropical gardens, the Skelligs rising from the Atlantic and traditional music in every harbour, a soulful and beautiful voyage.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter anchorage. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

Kinsale

Step aboard at Kinsale, a pretty harbour town on the south coast and the gourmet capital of Ireland. Explore its colourful streets and star-shaped fort, dine on fresh seafood, and settle in for the first night.
Day 2

Baltimore & the Islands

Cruise to Baltimore in West Cork and the beautiful islands of Roaringwater Bay, from Sherkin to Cape Clear. Anchor off a quiet island, explore ashore, and take in Ireland’s southernmost reaches.
Day 3

Bantry Bay

Sail into the majestic Bantry Bay, a vast sea inlet ringed by mountains and home to the sub-tropical gardens of Garinish Island. Visit the gardens, swim in the sheltered water, and anchor beneath the hills.
Day 4

The Skellig Islands

Cruise to the dramatic Skellig Islands, where the jagged pinnacle of Skellig Michael rises sheer from the Atlantic, crowned by an ancient monastery. Circle the rock, watch the seabirds, and marvel at the setting.
Day 5

Dingle Peninsula

Sail to the beautiful Dingle Peninsula, a landscape of golden beaches, ancient sites and the colourful harbour town of Dingle. Explore the town, enjoy the music, and anchor off a quiet strand.
Day 6

The Blasket Islands

Cruise to the wild and beautiful Blasket Islands off the tip of the peninsula, abandoned in the 1950s and now a haven for seals and seabirds. Land on the deserted shore and take in the haunting beauty.
Day 7

The Aran Islands

The voyage ends among the Aran Islands in Galway Bay, three windswept isles of ancient stone forts and criss-crossing walls. Explore the prehistoric fort of Dun Aonghasa and toast a week on the Atlantic coast.
