Italy: The Tuscan Archipelago Charter Itinerary

Italy: The Tuscan Archipelago Itinerary

Italy: The Tuscan Archipelago Yacht Charter
A week among the seven islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, a protected marine park of astonishing clarity scattered between Elba and the mainland. This is wild, low-key Italy, Napoleon’s island of exile, strict nature reserves, and anchorages where the water teems with life. Expect granite coves and imperial history, snorkelling over seagrass meadows and long swims off near-empty shores, some of the clearest water in the Mediterranean throughout.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter cove. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

Portoferraio, Elba

Step aboard at Portoferraio, the handsome capital of Elba, its harbour watched over by Medici fortresses and the villa where Napoleon spent his exile. Wander the old town and the imperial rooms, then sail out to anchor for a first swim.

Elba

Spend the day exploring Elba, the third-largest island in Italy, ringed with sandy beaches and granite coves. Anchor off the pretty harbour of Porto Azzurro, swim in clear water, and give the afternoon to the island’s quiet shore.

Capraia

Cruise to wild and remote Capraia, a volcanic island of dramatic cliffs and maquis-covered hills, the most far-flung of the archipelago. Anchor in a secluded cove, snorkel the pristine reefs, and take in the sense of true remoteness.

Pianosa

Sail to the flat, mysterious island of Pianosa, a strictly protected reserve once home to a penal colony and now a haven of marine life. Snorkel its crystal-clear, teeming shallows, one of the finest and least-visited anchorages in Italy.
