Norway: Lofoten & the Arctic Charter Itinerary

Norway: Lofoten & the Arctic Itinerary

Norway: Lofoten & the Arctic Yacht Charter
A week through the Lofoten Islands, where jagged peaks plunge to turquoise water and red fishing cabins cling to the shore beneath the Arctic sky. This is Norway at its most photogenic, dramatic fjords and white-sand beaches, whale-rich seas and picture-book villages. Expect towering Trollfjord and the beaches of Kvalvika, humpbacks off Vesteralen and the midnight sun overhead, a spectacular northern voyage.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter anchorage. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

Svolvaer

Step aboard at Svolvaer, lively capital of the Lofoten Islands, set among dramatic peaks that plunge to the sea. Explore the harbour, then sail out among the islands for a first taste of the Arctic light.
Day 2

Trollfjord

Cruise into the narrow, dramatic Trollfjord, a sheer-sided cleft barely wide enough to turn, its cliffs rising vertically from the water. Nudge in slowly, awed by the scale, then anchor in the shelter.
Day 3

Reine & Moskenes

Sail to Reine, perhaps the most beautiful village in Norway, its red cabins scattered on islets beneath a ring of jagged peaks. Wander the shore, hike for the classic view, and anchor in the calm.
Day 4

A & the Southern Tip

Cruise to the village of A at the very tip of Lofoten, a beautifully preserved fishing station of red rorbu cabins and cod-drying racks. Explore the museum and lanes, then anchor beneath the mountains.
Day 5

The Lofoten Beaches

Sail to the astonishing white-sand beaches of Lofoten, such as Kvalvika and Haukland, where turquoise water laps at Caribbean-like sand beneath Arctic peaks. Swim if you dare, and laze on the shore.
Day 6

Vesteralen & the Whales

Cruise north to the Vesteralen islands, where the continental shelf drops close to shore and whales gather to feed. Watch for humpbacks and orcas, then anchor in a sheltered bay.
Day 7

Henningsvaer

The voyage ends at enchanting Henningsvaer, the Venice of Lofoten, a cluster of islets crowded with white cottages, galleries and cafes. Explore the harbour and toast a week in the Arctic.
