Zanzibar Charter Itinerary

Zanzibar Itinerary

Zanzibar Yacht Charter
A week around Zanzibar, the fabled Spice Island, where a UNESCO old town of carved doors and bazaars gives way to some of the finest beaches and reefs in the Indian Ocean. This route runs from historic Stone Town to protected marine sanctuaries and empty sandbanks. Expect dhows and spice markets, dolphin bays and technicolour coral, culture and wilderness in a single warm and vivid voyage.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter reef. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

Stone Town

Step aboard at Stone Town, the historic heart of Zanzibar, a UNESCO-listed maze of coral-stone houses, carved doors and bustling bazaars. Wander the lanes, take in the spice-scented history, and settle aboard.
Day 2

Nungwi

Cruise to the northern tip at Nungwi, ringed by some of the finest beaches in Zanzibar, long ribbons of white sand lapped by clear water. Swim from the shore, watch the dhow-builders, and enjoy the sunset.
Day 3

Mnemba Atoll

Sail to the exclusive Mnemba Atoll off the northeast coast, a protected marine reserve ringed by a spectacular reef. Snorkel or dive among turtles and dolphins in some of the clearest water in the region.
Day 4

Pemba Island

Cruise north to lush, hilly Pemba, the Green Island, far less visited than Zanzibar and ringed by dramatic drop-offs and pristine reefs. Dive the walls, swim in the clear water, and savour the seclusion.
Day 5

Menai Bay

Sail to the Menai Bay Conservation Area in the south, a haven for dolphins and green turtles among sandbanks and coral reefs. Swim and snorkel in the sheltered water, and keep watch for dolphins at play.
Day 6

Chumbe Island

Cruise to Chumbe Island, a pioneering marine sanctuary with one of the healthiest reefs in the region, a protected haven of vibrant fish. Snorkel the coral, walk the forest trail, and take in the conservation story.
Day 7

Fumba Sandbanks

The voyage ends among the sandbanks and islets of the Fumba peninsula, where curves of white sand rise from turquoise shallows. Swim in the warm water and toast a week on the Spice Island.
