AMIGOS is a 55-metre motor yacht built by the Dutch shipyard Amels and delivered in 2017 as one of the latest vessels in the highly successful Amels Limited Edition 180 series. Her exterior lines, designed by Tim Heywood, are among the most recognised in the 55-metre class: a curved gunwale and raked bow give her a sleek, confident presence that carries both the proven Amels platform and a genuinely distinctive silhouette.
Her interior was created by Italian designer Laura Sessa Romboli, who evoked a spa-like calm through a subtle palette of creams and silvers. An open-plan main salon has fold-down balconies on both port and starboard sides to bring the outside in, and a separate cinema area forward with deep-seated sofas for comfortable viewing. The Starlink satellite internet connection keeps guests connected wherever AMIGOS travels.
AMIGOS sets herself apart from the Amels 180 series with an exceptional bridge deck arrangement. Rather than a conventional upper deck, the entire bridge deck aft is given over to the owneru2019s full-beam master suite and, uniquely, a private 180-degree terrace adjacent to it: a circular table for four, sun loungers and panoramic views with no other guest in sight. The main deck holds a VIP cabin forward with its own fold-down balcony and office, a second private viewing deck, and adjacent to it a fully equipped gym that can also serve as a staff cabin.
Above the bridge deck, a 175-square-metre sun deck was extended by three metres during the build to create a genuinely expansive social space. A four-metre counter-current pool doubles as a Jacuzzi and swim-in-place machine, with a shaded alfresco dining table for ten, a Teppanyaki grill and an outdoor cinema filling the remaining space. Below, the beach club is equipped with a Hammam and opens onto a generous swim platform.
Four further guest cabins on the lower deck complete the accommodation for 12 guests across six staterooms, in a configuration ideally suited to couples or groups with older children. Twin MTU engines deliver 15.5 knots maximum and 13 knots cruising with a 4,500 nautical mile range and a touch-and-go helipad on the bow for fast arrivals and departures. Managed through Edmiston with a crew of 13, AMIGOS has an impeccable charter record and splits her year between the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, carrying an 11.63-metre Fjord 38 Xpress and an 11.30-metre Wajer 38S as her primary tenders for seamless operations in either cruising ground.
The bridge deck arrangement on AMIGOS is unique in the Amels 180 series: a full 180-degree private terrace with circular table and sun loungers sits adjacent to the master suite.
A palette of creams and silvers, fold-down balconies and a separate cinema with deep sofas make AMIGOSu2019s interior feel like a genuinely residential retreat.
The full-beam master suite on the bridge deck has its own private 180-degree terrace, entirely separate from the rest of the yacht.
Extended by three metres during the build, the sun deck holds a counter-current pool, Teppanyaki grill, outdoor cinema and alfresco dining for ten.
The open-plan main salon features fold-down balconies port and starboard, dissolving the boundary between interior and sea.
