CHARADE is a 38-metre Benetti Fast 125, the sixth hull from a series that established itself as one of the most successful semi-displacement platforms in the Italian yard’s recent history. Drawn by Stefano Righini on the exterior and finished by London-based RWD within, she was delivered in 2018 with a design language that leans deliberately modern, clean lines, polished metal accents, and a palette of cool neutrals lifted by accents of soft blue and violet.
The ‘Air’ configuration chosen for CHARADE is the most contemporary of the three Fast 125 interior layouts. Simple sight lines, minimal ornamentation, and careful attention to lighting, including slim LED panels set flush into bulkheads, give each space a sense of volume that belies the hull’s 38-metre length. Floor-to-ceiling windows along both sides of the main deck draw natural light deep into the salon and dining area, while an exterior RGB lighting system lets guests set the mood on the hull and superstructure after dark.
At the heart of the main salon, off-white sofas and armchairs sit around a white lacquer coffee table, accented by navy cushions that nod to the sea outside. Forward, an interior dining table seats the full complement of ten. A bespoke steel-and-glass stairway designed by RWD, its stone treads backlit from beneath, connects the main deck to the sky lounge above, a room that doubles as a media space with Starlink high-speed internet, IPTV, AirPlay, and Apple TV with every major streaming service available.
Move outside and CHARADE opens up. The upper deck aft carries a large round al fresco table served by its own counter, sink, and fridge, while the sundeck above offers deep duck-egg blue sofas and expandable tables under a hardtop. Forward, a foredeck jacuzzi makes use of space often left empty on comparable yachts, flanked by full-length sun pads for those who prefer dry heat over warm water.
Below, five cabins accommodate ten guests overnight. The full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck is the centrepiece: a generous walk-in wardrobe leads to an en-suite with his-and-her basins and Molton Brown toiletries. On the lower deck, two VIP doubles and two convertible twins extend the same tonal palette, ecru and beige grounded by soft blue and violet, keeping the spaces light and airy even below the waterline.
A fold-down transom converts the stern into a beach club, opening a wide platform directly onto the water for swimming, diving, or launching from the toy inventory. Water skis, inflatables, kayaks, and tenders are stored out of sight until needed.
CHARADE is built to cover ground without fuss. Twin MTU engines push her to 24 knots when asked, though 18 knots is her comfortable cruising speed, smooth enough, thanks to zero-speed and underway stabilisers, to hold a glass of wine on the aft deck without a ripple. An 1,750-nautical-mile range opens itineraries from the Côte d’Azur to Corsica, Sardinia, or the Aeolian Islands without refuelling.
A crew of seven manages the yacht with quiet competence, ensuring everything from the galley to the tender runs seamlessly. CHARADE is family-oriented by design; event charters and parties are not permitted on board, preserving the calm atmosphere that makes her a natural choice for families cruising the Western Mediterranean from €145,000 per week.
