About Cloudbreak

Cloudbreak is a seventy-five-metre explorer yacht built by Abeking & Rasmussen in 2016 and designed by Espen Øino with interiors by Christian Liaigre. Conceived for owners who demand both refined luxury and genuine expedition capability, she combines the range and ruggedness of an explorer hull with the finish and comfort of the finest displacement yachts afloat.

The exterior profile is immediately distinctive. A steel hull and aluminium superstructure carry a high bow and a long waterline, giving Cloudbreak a commanding presence alongside the capacity to handle open-ocean passages. Her observation tower rises above the sundeck, offering a three-hundred-and-sixty-degree vantage point that turns every anchorage into a private lookout. Below it, the sundeck itself houses a swimming pool, outdoor cinema, and a lounge protected by a retractable hardtop. A certified helipad forward of the pool allows guests to access the yacht directly by helicopter, whether for remote island transfers or scenic coastal flights.

On the main deck, the owner’s suite occupies the full beam of the yacht and opens onto two private terraces with panoramic views to port and starboard. The interior was conceived by Christian Liaigre, whose signature palette of warm timbers, natural stones, and woven textures creates an atmosphere that is both serene and sophisticated. A walk-in wardrobe and full-beam bathroom with separate shower and soaking tub complete the suite. Forward of the owner’s quarters, the main saloon flows through a formal dining area into a fireplace lounge, a space as suited to quiet reading as it is to evening entertaining.

The lower deck houses five guest cabins, each finished in a neutral scheme of pale oak, linen, and brushed metals. Three doubles and one twin provide flexible sleeping arrangements, while each cabin has its own en-suite bathroom. The corridor that links these cabins also leads to the yacht’s wellness centre, which occupies a generous area of the lower deck. A spa treatment room, dry sauna, fully equipped gym, and a dedicated yoga studio give guests a complete programme of exercise and relaxation without ever leaving the vessel.

Cloudbreak’s upper deck is anchored by the winter garden, a glass-enclosed space that serves as an informal dining room by day and a cocktail lounge by night. Aft of the winter garden, the sky lounge offers deep sofas, a media system, and a separate bar. A VIP cabin on this deck provides an alternative owner’s suite or a privileged guest stateroom with its own private bathroom.

Adventure lies at the heart of the yacht’s programme. The aft tender garage stores a fleet of water toys that includes jet skis, electric surfboards, diving equipment, rock-climbing gear, and multiple inflatable platforms. Three dedicated tenders, a six-metre Highfield, a ten-metre X-Tender, and a twelve-metre Yellowfin, make shore access easy even in the most remote anchorages. An elevator connects all four decks, ensuring effortless movement throughout the yacht regardless of physical ability.

With a crew of twenty-two looking after a maximum of twelve guests, the service ratio aboard Cloudbreak is exceptional. She cruises comfortably at twelve knots with a maximum speed of fifteen knots, and her long-range capability makes her equally at home in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Norwegian fjords, or the remote atolls of Southeast Asia. For charterers who want luxury without limits, Cloudbreak sets a benchmark few yachts of any size can match.
