About CROSSED SABRE

CROSSED SABRE solves a problem most yachts her size cannot: how to sleep a large group in real comfort without stepping up to a much bigger boat. Built by Burger Boat Company in 2006 and refreshed in 2020, this 44 metre American motor yacht carries seven staterooms, an unusually generous count for her length, which makes her a natural choice for extended families and groups travelling together. She spends her year in the Bahamas, where short passages and clear water play to her strengths.

Her sun deck is where the day tends to settle. A jacuzzi sits forward behind twin helm chairs, framed by loungers and a full wet bar, with a treadmill and gym equipment nearby for anyone keeping to a routine. Down a level, the bridge deck opens into shaded lounging and an aft dining table, while the main deck aft keeps a second dining setting close to the galley. Guests move easily between sun, shade and sea without ever feeling on top of one another.

That sense of space carries into the water. A broad swim platform, a full beach set up and a deep locker of toys, from waverunners and towables to paddleboards and snorkelling gear, turn a quiet Bahamian cay into a full day out. A crew of eleven run the operation with the unforced polish that separates a good week from a great one, and the beach picnics are part of the plan rather than a favour.

Inside, CROSSED SABRE is warm and classic: rich mahogany joinery softened by pale blue fabrics and plenty of natural light. The main salon pairs relaxed seating with wide windows onto the sea, and the formal dining room seats the whole party beneath a sculptural chandelier. One deck up, a separate sky lounge gives the group a quieter room for a film or a nightcap, keeping the busy and the calm apart when they need to be.

Accommodation is the heart of her appeal. The master stateroom runs full-beam, with a private office, a comfortable sitting area and a marble en-suite finished with twin vanities. A VIP queen sits on the bridge deck, and further queen and twin cabins on the lower deck flex easily between couples, children and friends. Seven rooms in total mean nobody draws the short straw, and every cabin is finished to the same warm, considered standard.

Under way she is steady and unhurried, a pair of MTU engines giving a relaxed twelve knot cruise with a little more in reserve. Her Burger build keeps passages quiet and level, and her range suits the island-hopping she was made for. She balances an easy, informal mood with the reach and sea manners of a proper ocean going yacht, which is why groups tend to book her again.

What sets CROSSED SABRE apart is capacity with comfort. She hosts twelve across seven cabins, keeps her deck and interior spaces generous, and backs it all with a serious water program. For larger groups who want room to spread out without losing the intimacy of a private yacht, she makes a clear and confident case. Chartering from US$175,000 per week.
