About Danida

Danida brings Sanlorenzo’s acclaimed SX88 concept to the charter stage with a design philosophy that dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior living. Launched in 2020 and maintained to exacting Italian standards, this 26-metre motor yacht offers an experience that feels closer to a waterfront villa than a conventional vessel, with flowing deck spaces, retractable glass panels, and a signature sea terrace that places guests mere inches above the Mediterranean surface.

The SX88 platform introduced a layout revolution when it debuted, and Danida expresses every facet of that innovation. Her asymmetric deck plan widens the port-side passageway into a genuine walkway while devoting the freed starboard space to the main salon, creating an open-plan living area that stretches uninterrupted from the galley forward to the aft deck. Floor-to-ceiling glazing wraps three sides of this space, and electrically operated glass doors slide away to merge the air-conditioned salon with the outdoor dining and lounging zones. The effect is a single, light-drenched social floor that adapts to the day: intimate breakfast nook in the morning, panoramic cocktail bar by sunset, sheltered cinema lounge after dark.

Forward, the sea terrace is Danida’s most distinctive feature. Reached by a short flight of steps from the main deck, this sunken bow lounge sits close to the waterline, offering an almost amphibious perspective on the anchorage. Plush seating wraps the perimeter, a central table converts for dining or drinks, and the low freeboard means swimmers can step aboard without a ladder. When Danida anchors off the Amalfi Coast or in the turquoise shallows of the Aeolian Islands, this terrace becomes the heart of the charter, a private beach club without the sand.

Above, the flybridge provides a second world entirely. A full helm station occupies the forward section, but the remaining area is dedicated to leisure: a dining table for eight, a wet bar, and a broad sun pad that stretches across the aft section. The elevated vantage point rewards cruising along volcanic coastlines and weaving through harbour approaches, while the retractable bimini keeps the midday sun at bay.

Below decks, four cabins accommodate eight guests in comfort that belies the yacht’s compact footprint. The full-beam master suite occupies the most stable midships position, with large hull windows that frame the seascape from pillow level. A double guest cabin offers its own sea view, while a twin cabin provides flexible sleeping for families or friends. Every cabin benefits from individual climate control, premium bed linens, and en-suite facilities finished in stone and brushed metal.

Propulsion comes from a triple installation of Volvo Penta IPS 650 pod drives, a configuration chosen for manoeuvrability as much as speed. The joystick-controlled pods make Danida remarkably agile in tight marina berths and allow the captain to hold station in open water for swimming stops without deploying anchors. A cruising speed of twenty knots and a top end of twenty-two knots keep transfers brisk without excessive fuel burn, making week-long itineraries along the Italian Riviera, the Dalmatian coast, or the Balearic Islands entirely practical.

A crew of four, captain, chef, stewardess, and deckhand, ensures that every detail of the charter runs smoothly. From provisioning local seafood at quayside markets to arranging water-sports equipment stored in the aft garage, the team tailors each day to the preferences of the group aboard. Danida is, in every sense, a Sanlorenzo designed not merely to travel across the sea but to live upon it.
