About Mariu

MARIU is a 49.9-metre motor yacht built by Codecasa and delivered in 2003, commissioned for and designed by Giorgio Armani himself. Named after his mother’s nickname, she remains one of the most genuinely distinctive charter yachts afloat: a yacht where the hallmark Armani aesthetic, minimalist, tactile, utterly disciplined, finds expression not on a runway but on a 50-metre semi-displacement hull in charcoal grey. Armani chose that grey specifically to reduce contrast with the water and give the yacht a cohesive, understated presence that no white or blue hull could achieve.

Her interior carries the Armani signature throughout. Floors are narrow-plank teak with slivers of ebony rather than silicone. Walls are limed teak veneer. Ceilings are titanium, a dull silver metal that increases apparent height through its semi-reflective sheen. Stainless steel lift doors, brushed to match the titanium tone, serve all four decks. Furniture throughout the main and upper salons is from the Armani Casa collection. The main deck office was later converted into a 200-bottle wine cellar to serve guests’ refined wine preferences. An elevator serves all decks, and the very large sun deck can be shaded for comfortable sunbathing or an afternoon rest in any conditions.

Accommodation sleeps 12 guests across six double staterooms, two of which are convertible to twins for additional flexibility. The master suite is full-beam with a king bed and his-and-hers en-suite bathrooms, each with a shower and a central Jacuzzi. The sun deck Jacuzzi provides a further spot for relaxation. A crew of eight provides attentive personal service, with the yacht maintaining its extraordinary material condition through meticulous annual winter maintenance. MARIU operates primarily in the East Mediterranean at €185,000 per week.

The main deck aft of Mariu is the social heart of the exterior: a covered area with comfortable built-in seating, a dining table and a natural flow to the swim platform below. Whether for casual lunches or formal dinners under the stars, this space is purposefully designed for the pleasures of outdoor life at sea.

The main salon of Mariu is a considered and generous open-plan living and dining area that uses the finest materials, furniture and lighting to create a space that feels as refined and comfortable as a top private residence. Large windows ensure natural light throughout the day, and the natural flow from salon to aft deck makes indoor-outdoor living completely effortless.

The master suite of Mariu occupies the finest position on the yacht for privacy and natural light. A king-sized bed, sitting area, his-and-hers dressing facilities and a premium stone en-suite bathroom with shower and bath create a private retreat of the highest calibre, one that compares favourably with the finest suites in any shore-based five-star hotel.

The sun deck of Mariu is the highest and most panoramic outdoor space on board: a Jacuzzi, sun pads, comfortable loungers and a well-stocked bar create a space where guests naturally gather. Unobstructed views in every direction make it equally popular at sunrise and sunset.

The sky lounge of Mariu is a versatile social space with plush sofas, a bar, and a premium entertainment system. It moves naturally between relaxed daytime lounge and the centre of evening social life as the hours progress, and its elevated panoramic windows make it popular at all hours.
