About Marla

MARLA arrives for the 2026 season freshly refreshed, and it shows. A 50-metre Amels designed by Terence Disdale, she has spent a quarter-century earning her reputation in the Mediterranean and Greek islands, and this year’s refit sharpens rather than reinvents her. The salon, formal dining room and every outdoor deck have been reworked with new furnishings and awnings, while the bones beneath, Disdale’s calm, art-forward interior architecture, remain exactly as intended. Few charter yachts this size combine that kind of design pedigree with a refit this current.

Zero-speed stabilizers are the detail that changes how a week on board actually feels. They hold MARLA steady at anchor as well as under way, which means a still glass of wine at sunset in an open bay, not just a smooth passage between them. Twin Cummins engines return an efficient 13-knot cruise, giving her the range to island-hop through the Aegean without the fuel penalty larger yachts carry.

Inside, the design leans into texture and art rather than volume for its own sake. Delicate finishes and curated pieces run through the main salon and dining room, giving each space a considered, gallery-like quality that avoids formality. The dining room seats twelve beneath wraparound windows, built for a full-guest evening rather than a quiet breakfast. What sets MARLA apart from most 50-metre charter yachts, though, is a space most of them skip entirely: a dedicated family lounge, finished with bean bags, a games table and artwork clearly chosen with younger guests in mind. It is a small architectural decision with an outsized effect on a week with children aboard, a real space for them, not a corner of the main salon repurposed for the occasion.

Six staterooms sleep twelve across three doubles and three twins, each carrying the same tactile, ocean-toned palette as the public rooms. A study doubles as a quiet retreat away from the more social decks, and an office nook keeps a working guest connected without pulling them off the boat entirely.

On deck, the sundeck jacuzzi and generous sun pads anchor the top level, while the aft deck’s alfresco dining table and lounge seating give guests a second gathering point shaded through the afternoon. The water toy inventory was renewed for 2026: a new 23-foot Goldfish tender joins refurbished jet skis, Seabobs and an inflatable water slide, enough variety to fill an anchorage afternoon without repeating an activity twice.

Thirteen crew look after twelve guests, a ratio that shows in the detail, full-time water sports supervision, considered menus, and a service style calibrated to families as readily as couples. MARLA charters Greece and the wider Mediterranean year-round, giving owners and guests genuine flexibility on timing rather than a narrow summer window.

For charterers weighing a 50-metre Amels against newer tonnage, MARLA’s argument is straightforward: a proven Disdale design, a refit completed this year, and a family lounge that most yachts her size simply do not offer. From €180,000 per week, she is a considered choice rather than the obvious one, which, for the right group, is exactly the point.
