About Oceana

OCEANA is a Jon Bannenberg design, and it shows. One of the most influential names in yacht design gave this 55 metre Oceanfast her clean, purposeful profile and the calm, light filled interior that still feels contemporary more than three decades after her 1991 launch. A 2016 refit brought her systems and finishes up to date without touching the confidence of the original lines.

Built in aluminium by Oceanfast in Australia, she was engineered for pace as well as presence. Twin MTU engines and Quantum zero speed stabilisers give her a genuine turn of speed and a settled, quiet motion at anchor, so guests feel the difference whether she is running between islands or lying still for the night.

Her interior volume is unusually generous for the length. The main salon runs wide and bright, a long room of soft neutral sofas framed by picture windows on both sides. Forward, a separate formal dining room seats the full guest party beneath a coffered ceiling, its table set against warm timber and a herringbone floor. Up on the bridge deck a second sky lounge offers a more relaxed room, with a bar and low seating that catches the afternoon light.

Accommodation is arranged for ten to twelve guests across five cabins. The master is a full width retreat with its own dressing area and a marble bathroom, while the guest cabins, three doubles and a twin, are finished in pale sycamore with generous natural light. A crew of twelve, one of the higher ratios in her class, keeps the whole yacht running quietly in the background, so service arrives before it is asked for and the mechanics of the day stay out of sight.

The deck spaces are where OCEANA earns her keep as a charter yacht. The shaded aft deck pairs an outdoor dining table with deep lounge seating, the natural spot for long lunches and evenings at anchor. The sun deck above is the social heart of the yacht, a broad teak terrace with a spa tub, sunpads and shaded seating that looks out over open water. Forward, a quieter foredeck lounge gives guests somewhere to retreat when the anchor is down, a private corner away from the main flow of the yacht.

At water level she carries a full tender and toy programme, including a six metre Novurania and an Avon, ready to move guests ashore or out to the swimming and watersports that define a Mediterranean charter. Her shallow draft of under two metres lets her tuck into bays and anchorages that deeper yachts of her size cannot reach, a real advantage along a busy summer coastline.

OCEANA cruises the western Mediterranean, from the French Riviera and Monaco to the coves of Corsica, Sardinia and the Italian coast, where her scale, her deck space and her calm sea manners suit long, unhurried itineraries. For charter groups who value design pedigree and space over the newest launch date, she offers something increasingly rare: a genuine Bannenberg superyacht, refreshed and ready, with room to spread out on board and ashore.
