About Project X

Eighty-eight metres. Twelve guests. That ratio is the whole of Project X, and it is why she reads differently from anything else at her size.

Delivered in 2022, she is the largest yacht ever built in Greece — the point at which Golden Yachts, working out of Athens, stopped being a yard that built big and became one that builds at the very top of the market. Her profile is long and deliberately unhurried: a near-plumb bow, six decks stacked without drama, and a fifteen-metre beam that gives her presence without heaviness. Nothing about the exterior asks for attention. It simply occupies the anchorage.

What the volume buys is space that never has to be rationed. Most 88-metre yachts carry twenty or more guests and spend their interior architecture on corridors. Project X spends hers on rooms. Nine cabins serve twelve people, which means every suite is generous, every bathroom is full-size, and the social spaces are sized for a group that will never fill them. Guests move through the yacht without queueing for anything — a tender, a table, a sunlounger, a shower after a swim.

The sundeck is where she makes her clearest argument. A pool sits at its centre, fed by a waterfall that falls the full height of the deck above, and the sound of it carries across the whole space. Forward, a circular jacuzzi is sunk into teak and ringed with cushions. Aft, shade sails pull taut over dining for twelve. It is one deck, but it works as three separate places to spend a day, and the flow between them is easy enough that nobody has to decide in advance.

Wellness runs deeper than a jacuzzi here. There is a sauna finished in pale timber, a treatment room with its own daylight, and a gym laid over hardwood with a wall of glass onto the sea — three distinct rooms rather than one multi-purpose corner. On a long charter that distinction matters. So does the beach club, which opens straight onto the water with foiling boards, e-bikes, kayaks and dive gear racked along its length.

Inside, the design holds a consistent line: warm timbers, soft indirect lighting, and curved joinery that keeps sightlines long. The main saloon runs almost the full beam, its seating grouped rather than ranked, with a grand piano set against the glass. Formal dining occupies its own room — a single long table under a sculptural light installation, wine stored behind glass along one wall. It is a room built for an occasion, and it is separate enough from the saloon that the two can be used at once.

The accommodation follows the same logic. The owner’s suite takes a full deck section with its own lounge and a private terrace; the VIP is close to equal; the seven remaining cabins are doubles and twins finished to the same standard rather than a lesser one. Twenty-eight crew work the yacht, better than two for every guest, and their service areas are routed so that they are almost never seen.

Project X cruises comfortably at twelve knots with 5,500 nautical miles of range, which puts the entire Mediterranean within a single season and makes longer repositioning straightforward. She is available for charter through the western and eastern Mediterranean.
