SKYLARK is a 21 metre power catamaran launched by Sunreef Yachts in 2012, built for relaxed island cruising with the space and stability that only a wide twin-hull platform can give. She carries eight guests in four cabins and runs with a crew of three, and her long summers are spent among the Cyclades and the wider Greek islands, where guests return year after year for the food and the itineraries.
Life aboard centres on the main deck, where the saloon runs almost the full beam of the boat. A comfortable lounge sits alongside an indoor dining table, and the galley is part of the same open room, so the chef is never shut away from the party. Wide windows on three sides keep the space bright and connected to the water, and glass doors slide back to join the saloon to the covered aft deck. That aft cockpit is the natural setting for long lunches and dinners in the shade, with the sea a step away.
The flybridge is the social heart of the yacht in good weather. Sun loungers and a shaded seating area share the top deck, giving guests a choice between full sun and cover through the middle of the day. Forward, a foredeck lounge catches the breeze under way and turns into a quiet spot at anchor, while the swim platform at the stern puts the water and the tenders within easy reach for swimming and toys.
Accommodation is arranged for real comfort rather than show. The master cabin is a bright double with its own bathroom, and three further cabins, a mix of doubles and a twin, each have private facilities of their own. Warm timber joinery, soft blue accents and large hull windows run through all four rooms, and because the yacht is a catamaran the cabins sit low and level, so nights at anchor are settled and quiet.
As a power catamaran SKYLARK is easy and efficient at sea. She cruises comfortably at around eleven knots with a top end near fourteen, and her shallow draft opens up bays and anchorages that deeper monohulls cannot reach. That combination of range, stability and access is exactly what makes her suited to a Greek island holiday, where the plan can change with the wind and the crowds.
A week aboard tends to settle into a happy routine of morning swims, long lunches under way and afternoons at anchor in a new bay. The crew keep a full complement of water toys ready on the swim platform, from paddleboards to snorkelling gear, and the chef builds the menus around what the markets and the islands have to offer that day. Because the yacht draws so little, the captain can choose anchorages by the water and the view rather than by the depth, which is what keeps guests coming back to her season after season.
The crew of three, including a chef, look after the cooking, the service and the water sports, so guests can settle into the rhythm of the trip from the first day. Whether the week is spent hopping between the Cyclades, anchoring off quiet beaches or lingering over dinner as the sun goes down, SKYLARK offers a calm, spacious and genuinely comfortable base on the water for a family or a group of friends.
