SOLEMATES is a brand new Heesen, a 55 metre steel yacht delivered in 2025, and she brings the Dutch yard’s current thinking to the charter market. Her hull is a Van Oossanen fast displacement design, shaped for a quiet, efficient ride and a range of 4,500 nautical miles, which is what lets her cross oceans and split her year between two very different cruising grounds. Above the waterline the exterior is clean and contemporary by Omega Architects, and the interior is the work of Luca Dini, warm and restrained where a yacht this new could easily have been cold.
Twelve guests sleep in six cabins. The owner takes a full beam suite forward, a wide bed below long windows with a seating area and a private bathroom in warm timber and stone. Below are VIP doubles, further doubles and twins, each with a marble ensuite, a layout that flexes for a large family or several couples travelling together. A crew of fourteen runs her, a generous number that reflects the level of service a new Heesen is set up to deliver, and the volume of a 758 ton yacht means the service spaces never crowd the guest areas.
The interior is contemporary but easy to live in. The main salon runs in warm timber and soft neutrals, low sofas and swivel chairs on a pale rug with glass wrapping the room, so the sea sits just past the seating from every angle. A long dining table sits within the main deck under a soft lit ceiling, and a quieter skylounge on the upper deck gives the group a second inside room with its own bar. There is a dedicated gym aboard as well, a genuine one rather than a token corner, which is increasingly what charter guests expect and rarely find at this size.
Outside, SOLEMATES is built for warm weather and long days at anchor. The sun deck carries a pair of shaded cabanas among the loungers and a spa pool, high above the sea with a long view over the coast. The main and upper aft decks layer shaded dining and lounge seating close to the water, the foredeck opens out for anyone who wants to be away from the group, and the swim platform and beach club keep the sea and the toys close. It is a lot of usable outdoor space, arranged so a full house of twelve can spread out across the yacht.
A tender and a full spread of watersports gear come with the yacht, launched off the stern for a day in the water. The fast displacement hull and the stabilisers keep her quiet and level at anchor and on passage, and her range means she genuinely crosses the Atlantic rather than being shipped, so her season runs unbroken from one ocean to the next. As a 2025 delivery she is as current as a charter yacht gets, with the systems, the finish and the crew of a fresh build.
Her year is split between two of the finest cruising grounds there are. Through the Mediterranean summer she works the French Riviera and the Italian coast, from Monaco and Saint Tropez to the islands, and for the winter she crosses to the Caribbean and the Bahamas, where the water is warm and the anchorages run for miles. With her range, her deck space and her large crew, SOLEMATES suits a family or a group of friends who want a new yacht that can follow the sun across the world rather than staying in one sea.
