About SPECTRE

SPECTRE is a Princess 95 finished in grey, and the colour tells you something about how she has been kept. She was delivered in 2009 and taken through a refit that ran into 2025, and the result is a 29-metre planing yacht that still reads as current, inside, on deck and in the way she runs.

Four cabins sleep eight. The master runs full width amidships, with mirrored panels, a settee, a desk and a marble en-suite carrying twin basins and a walk-in shower behind glass. The VIP forward takes navy and yellow accents and its own settee, a guest double sits aft of it, and a twin completes the arrangement. The joinery throughout is dark American walnut against pale headlinings, a Princess signature of that generation, and one that has aged better than most.

The main deck is a single open volume, and it is the yacht’s best feature. Seating runs aft around a low lacquered table, dining sits forward beneath a stepped walnut ceiling, and the two share the same light from window bands on both sides. There is no bulkhead between them, which at 29 metres is the right decision: it makes the space feel considerably larger than the length suggests. A foyer and stairway in dark timber leads below, and the master’s en-suite is finished to a standard that would not embarrass a yacht twice her size.

She has full walkaround side decks, genuinely rare on a planing hull of this length, and the detail that makes her feel safe with children aboard. Forward, a sunpad sits under a bimini with its own seating and cushions, shaded through the middle of the day. The flybridge runs long and open: loungers to port, a dining table and a wet bar aft, and an upper helm forward with a clear view over the bow.

Her toy programme is unusually strong for the price. The primary tender is a 40-foot 2025 Saxdor 400 GTO, a boat that would be the headline act on many yachts, backed by a jet-drive RIB, two hydrofoil boards, two inflatable paddleboards, two sea scooters and a dive compressor with gear.

Twin MTU 16V 2000 M93s give her 2,400 horsepower a side. Her listed cruise is 11 knots, which is where a charter yacht of this type spends most of its time; she will go a great deal faster when the water is flat and the schedule demands it. Stabilised underway, drawing 1.83 metres, she is well suited to the Florida coast and the Bahamas beyond it.

She works out of Stuart with a crew of four, which puts the St Lucie inlet, the Bahamas bank and the whole Treasure Coast within comfortable reach, and keeps her out of the congestion further south. The bow sunpad shaded under its bimini, the walkaround decks and a flybridge that seats everyone at once make her an easy yacht to spend a week on with children aboard, the layout does the work that a longer hull would otherwise have to do.

At $49,950 per week she sits at the accessible end of the 29-metre market, and what she offers at that number, a 2025 refit, walkaround decks, a serious tender and a master suite finished properly, makes her one of the more rational choices on the Treasure Coast.
