Aquila 50 Yacht Yachts for Sale

The Aquila 50 Yacht is a 15.9-metre power catamaran that replaces the popular Aquila 48. With a 25.5-foot beam and standard 3-cabin layout (expandable to 4), she offers exceptional living space across a single level. Twin Volvo Penta D6 380HP engines deliver a top speed of 22 knots and cruising speed of 18 knots, with an optional Yanmar 550HP and AHG hydrofoil system for improved efficiency. The catamaran hull provides inherent stability, shallow draft access and generous natural light through wraparound windows.

Aquila 50 Yacht Yacht Review

Two hulls, fifty feet, and a footprint that makes monohulls of twice the price feel cramped. The Aquila 50 Yacht is a power catamaran that takes the stability and space advantages of the multihull form and packages them in a cruising platform that sleeps six, dines twelve and reaches 22 knots. She replaced the award-winning Aquila 48 with a wider beam, updated styling and an optional hydrofoil system that promises to change the efficiency equation for catamaran cruising.
Performance

Twin hulls, twin engines, and a hull form that planes earlier than most people expect from a catamaran.

Standard propulsion comes from a pair of Volvo Penta D6 380HP diesels, giving a top speed of 22 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 18 knots. The optional Yanmar 550HP engines paired with AHG hydrofoils promise even better performance, lifting the hulls partially out of the water at cruising speed to reduce drag and fuel consumption. The catamaran hull gives inherently shallow draft, opening up anchorages, rivers and coastal waters that deeper-keeled boats cannot reach. At rest, the twin-hull stability means no rolling at anchor, which transforms onboard living.

Exterior Design

A 25.5-foot beam gives the Aquila 50 a deck area that rivals monohulls ten feet longer.

The flybridge is the social centre: a full helm station, wet bar, refrigerator, dining table and a forward sunpad fill a space that feels more like a rooftop terrace than a boat deck. Below, the cockpit opens to a transom platform that sits close to the water, making swimming, snorkelling and tender access effortless. The bow area on each hull carries additional sunpads and seating, connected by a forward cockpit that is unusual in this class. Hull windows are oversized, flooding the interior with light and framing the view from every cabin.

Living Spaces

The single-level main deck is the catamaran advantage that drawings cannot fully convey.

Walk from the cockpit to the helm to the galley to the saloon without climbing a single step. The galley is positioned to port with full-size appliances and a breakfast bar, while the saloon wraps around a dining table that seats eight. A second dining area on the flybridge accommodates the full guest complement. The panoramic windows that wrap both sides of the main deck eliminate the cave-like feel of many cruising boats, and the headroom throughout is generous enough that tall guests never duck.

Accommodation

Three cabins in the standard layout, four with the optional configuration, each set into its own hull for privacy.

The master suite fills the starboard hull with a queen berth, en-suite heads with separate shower, and hull windows that provide cross-ventilation and natural light. The port hull carries two guest cabins, a twin and a double, each with their own en-suite. The optional fourth cabin replaces storage space in the bow area. Air conditioning is standard across all cabins, and the separation between hulls means that noise from one side does not carry to the other, an acoustic advantage that monohulls cannot match.

Ownership & Specification

Power catamarans have lower running costs than comparable monohulls, and the Aquila 50 is positioned to make the numbers work.

New pricing starts around USD 1,100,000 (approximately EUR 1,000,000), which places her competitively against 50-foot monohull cruisers that offer half the living space. The shallow draft reduces marina costs in ports that charge by draught, and the twin-hull stability means less wear on fittings, rigging and crew. Resale values for Aquila catamarans have held well, supported by a growing global dealer network and a charter fleet that introduces the brand to new buyers. The AHG foil option adds to the purchase price but promises meaningful fuel savings over a cruising season.
