Twin Volvo Penta IPS800 engines drive the Atlantis 51 to a top speed of 35 knots, settling into an easy cruising band between 18 and 32 knots depending on how much of a hurry the day demands. Steering is well weighted through the turns, even if the wheel itself takes some turning lock to lock. A 1,500 litre fuel capacity supports a cruising range of around 300 nautical miles, and pod drives keep close quarters manoeuvring straightforward for an owner running the yacht short handed. It is a set up tuned for confident open water days rather than long ocean crossings.
She has no aft cockpit doors, and that absence is the whole point.
Neo Design shaped the Atlantis 51 around an open backed cockpit, a deliberate nod to classic sportcruiser proportions rather than the fully enclosed transoms now common in the class. Optional silver paint on the topsides and cockpit mouldings sharpens the profile further, moving her away from the expected white hull. A tender garage beneath the cockpit stores a craft up to 3.25 metres, though it sits close enough to the engine room to ask for a little patience during servicing. The result is a silhouette that reads as sportier and more purposeful than most yachts of this length.

The main cockpit dinette seats ten around a table with detachable squabs that double as stools when the space needs to open up, and a grill built into the transom keeps cooking smoke well clear of the seating. The helm station is compact but sensibly arranged, built around a single chartplotter rather than a bank of screens, which keeps the driving position clean and uncluttered. A four person sunpad forward gives guests somewhere to stretch out once the anchor is down, completing a deck plan built entirely around time spent outside.
The best cabin on board sits at the bow, not amidships.
Azimut placed the master cabin forward, an unconventional choice that rewards guests with long side windows, double hatches overhead and genuinely spacious proportions rarely found this far up a hull of 16.2 metres. Two further cabins sit amidships, a bunk cabin to port and a larger VIP style cabin to starboard with a choice of queen or twin beds, sharing bathroom facilities between them. Oak staircase details, dark wenge flooring and glossy lacquer finishes in warm coffee tones carry the same confident, contemporary language below deck as the exterior does above it.
At 850,000 euros new, the Atlantis 51 asks a premium over some rivals and largely earns it.
She measures 16.2 metres overall on a 4.6 metre beam, drawing 1.3 metres, with a loaded displacement of around 23 tonnes. Neo Design handled both exterior and interior, while the Azimut Benetti Group’s engineering division built the platform beneath them, RCD Category B certified for 12 people.
