Fifty knots at the top end makes the 34CC one of the fastest boats in Bertram’s centre console range.
She cruises at a settled 30 knots on her standard twin Mercury Verado 300 outboards, with a Yamaha F300 pairing and a larger twin 350 horsepower Mercury option available for owners who want more top end. The hull carries 23 degrees of deadrise at the transom, a deep V shape tuned to soften the ride without losing the shallow 0.90 metre draught that keeps inshore water and skinny anchorages within reach. It is a balance Bertram’s naval architecture team worked specifically to get right on this model, rather than scaling it up from a smaller hull.
Michael Peters Yacht Design shaped the 34CC’s exterior, a rare outside collaboration on a Bertram hull.
The result is a low, purposeful profile that keeps the deep V heritage visible from the bow to the transom, with three sports seats at the helm for longer runs and clean sightlines over the foredeck. Convertible seating around the cockpit switches between a fishing layout and a sunbathing arrangement without needing separate furniture, and a retractable cockpit sunshade is available for owners who spend long days at anchor. The lines read as working boat first, but the detailing throughout shows the same care Bertram brings to its larger convertibles.
A forward cabin gives the 34CC genuine overnight capability, a first for this size in Bertram’s centre console line.
The air conditioned cabin includes a head with a shower and washbasin, along with sleeping arrangements for up to four guests, enough for a genuine weekend away rather than a day trip that happens to have a berth. Eight guests can be comfortably aboard for a day on the water, and the layout allows for a single crew member when the owner wants help running the boat rather than doing it all from the helm. It is a meaningful step up in livability from the smaller 28CC, without losing the open, fishable deck that defines the range.
The cockpit on the 34CC is built to move easily between a fishing session and a day of entertaining.
Four insulated fish boxes and dedicated rod stowage keep serious fishing gear organised, while an optional tackle centre adds further rigging space for owners who fish often. A forward sun pad and an optional galley extend the boat’s role beyond fishing, giving guests somewhere to relax or eat without crowding the cockpit. Access to the bathing platform is wide and unobstructed, useful both for swimmers and for handling a catch boatside without wrestling it over a high gunwale.
A 1,200 litre fuel tank gives the 34CC the range to fish far offshore and still make it home in comfort.
At a 30 knot cruise, she is rated for around 350 nautical miles between fills, enough to reach distant grounds and return without rationing the throttle on the way back. A separate 121 litre fresh water tank and holding tank mean a day that stretches into evening does not become a compromise, and the shallow draught means she can duck into harbour on the way home rather than anchoring offshore to wait out a tide. For an owner who fishes seriously, that combination of range and shallow water access matters as much as the top speed.
