Fifty knots on twin sterndrives puts the 31 GT ahead of most bowriders her size.
Twin Volvo Penta V8 sterndrives come as standard, though an owner can specify twin Mercury Verado or twin Yamaha F300 outboards instead without changing anything else about the boat. Either configuration delivers a 30 knot cruise and a 50 knot top end, with 250 nautical miles of range to make the speed useful rather than just impressive on paper. The choice matters in practice. Sterndrives keep the transom clean and the swim platform low to the water, while outboards free up the engine bay and simplify servicing. Chris Craft leaves that decision to the owner rather than making it for them.
A true walk through bow, not just a token gap in the seating, defines her deck plan.
Plexiglass doors either side of the windshield let guests move from the aft cockpit to the forward loungers without climbing over anything, and those loungers fold flat with an optional filler cushion to form a full sun pad. The windshield itself is curved tempered glass in a stainless frame, set ahead of a three spoke wheel with power assisted tilt and electrically adjustable, double wide helm seats with flip up bolsters. A bow pedestal table and a Mediterranean style sun shade are offered for owners who want to turn the bow into a proper dining or lounging spot rather than just sunbathing space.
Two cabins and sleeping for four give the 31 GT a genuine overnight case.
Below the port console, a proper head compartment carries a porcelain toilet, a holding tank with dockside pumpout and a vessel sink set into a Corian counter, specification more typical of a larger cruiser than a 31 foot bowrider. Paired with accommodation for four guests across two cabins, she can comfortably take a family away for a weekend rather than just an afternoon. By day, up to eight can be aboard for cruising and entertaining, with the cabins tucked away out of sight until they are needed again.
The cockpit is built for evenings at anchor as much as afternoons underway.
An L shaped settee wraps around a drop leaf teak table, with a refreshment centre, fridge and sink as standard and a grill available for owners who want to cook at anchor, backed up by a second drawer fridge tucked beneath the settee. Aft, the integral swim platform carries a stainless ski tow, a hidden three step ladder and a transom shower, while a sun pad over the engine space lifts on electric rams for easy access below. Six zones of Lumishore LED lighting can be set to a scene or synced to the Fusion stereo’s JL Audio system, carrying the mood from sunset through to night.
Every hull is still built by hand in Sarasota, Florida.
Gel coating and a six step hull lamination process are done by hand, with CNC routing used only to keep fit and alignment precise, and upholstery sewn in house rather than outsourced. The boat is built to NMMA, ABYC and USCG standards and carries a five year transferable hull and structural warranty alongside a three year Chris Craft protection plan, the kind of backing that matters to an owner planning to keep her a long time. Heritage trim and a full Heritage Edition add further teak detailing for those who want to push the finish further still. No crew is required to run her day to day, keeping ownership as straightforward as the boat itself.
