Fairline built the Targa 50 EDITION as a limited run of its 50 OPEN, and the changes are cosmetic rather than structural. An anthracite mast, an anthracite hardtop and a grey band along the hull replace the usual white, and the cockpit gains a darker headliner with integrated lighting at high and low level. It is a trim package aimed at buyers who want the model to read a little harder.
The mechanical package is fixed. Twin Volvo Penta IPS700 units on D8-550 blocks give 1,100 hp and 34 knots, the quickest figure in the Targa range at this length. There is no alternative engine and no lower-powered entry point.
The deck follows the 50 OPEN. A hardtop with a sliding panel covers the helm and cockpit, the teak cockpit table cantilevers out of sight when the space is needed, and a wet bar handles entertaining without a trip below. The garage takes a Williams 285 TurboJET.
Below there are two cabins and four berths, the owner cabin forward and a mid cabin behind it, sharing one heads with a separate shower. At 15.64 metres including the pulpit and platform, and 13 tonnes dry, the boat sits at the top of what an owner can comfortably run without crew.
