The 3X’s signature trick is architectural as much as mechanical.
Two metre electric side windows retract into the hull sides, and an electric glass hardtop slides back above them, so the saloon can run fully open, fully enclosed or anywhere between the two. Extra long one piece windows and an extended sunroof keep the cabin bright even with the roof closed, and an open back saloon design carries that sense of space aft towards the cockpit. Focus offers two cockpit layouts, a symmetrical day boat arrangement or a sports cruiser configuration with more seating, and wide walk around decks with concealed cleats give her the kind of detailing more often found on much larger yachts. A sunbed built into the bow completes a deck plan with few wasted corners.
Three sets of engines let an owner choose exactly how the 3X behaves.
The standard twin MAN V12 units produce 1,400 horsepower apiece, with a twin MTU 10V 2000 option stepping up to 1,600 horsepower, or twin Volvo Penta IPS 1350 pod drives for owners who would rather trade raw power for manoeuvrability and a shallower running angle. On the standard engines she cruises at 28 knots and reaches 34 at full throttle, with 5,000 litres of fuel giving a range of 400 nautical miles, enough for a proper multi day cruise rather than a single afternoon out. The spread of options means the 3X can be specified as a quick, sporty cruiser or a more relaxed long range tourer, without changing the hull she is built on.
The helm looks and feels like it was lifted from a different kind of vehicle entirely.
Set centrally and styled in supercar fashion, it pairs a two metre leather trimmed dashboard with twin 16 inch multifunction displays and a pair of electrically adjustable seats, giving the driving position the same attention usually reserved for the saloon. In the cockpit, sides finished in leather and Alcantara hide storage and refrigeration behind clean panels rather than visible lockers. Aft, a transformer hydraulic swim platform moves 50 centimetres above or 60 centimetres below its resting position, which removes the need for a separate boarding gangway and makes swimming, diving and tender access equally easy regardless of sea state.
Below deck, the 3X trades footprint for genuine headroom.
Standing height is generous throughout the accommodation, an unusual claim for a boat of this length and one that changes how livable she feels on an extended stay. A master cabin and an en suite bathroom with double sinks and a separate shower form the core of the layout, with the saloon seating converting to sleeping space when the owner needs to host more than the two or four berths the cabin alone provides. The galley stays compact but useful, built around a 120 litre refrigerator rather than a full kitchen, and premium wood, leather and Alcantara run through the cabin to match the quality set on deck.
The 3X is a first chapter, not a one off.
Focus Motor Yachts designed, engineered and styled her entirely in house, drawing on a track record built across its existing performance range before setting the template for the new X line she now leads. She measures 11.65 metres on a 5.6 metre beam, with a 1.5 metre draught and 5,000 litres of fuel capacity, figures that put her comfortably ahead of most rivals her length on both space and range. Accommodation for two crew means she can be run properly staffed or largely by her owner, depending on preference. For a buyer drawn to adaptability as much as performance, the 3X offers a genuinely flexible starting point for a new model line with room still to grow.
