A double step hull does the quiet work behind every number that matters.
Twin 430 horsepower Mercruiser engines are standard, with 440 or 480 horsepower Volvo Penta options available for owners who want more from the top end, carrying the 1212 Ghost Air to a cruising speed of 30 knots and a maximum of 40. The double step hull beneath her is the same engineering language Frauscher applies across the range, built to keep the ride flat and predictable rather than simply fast. CE Category B certification confirms she is built for open water work, not sheltered cruising alone, and 850 litres of fuel give her a range of around 300 nautical miles, enough for a genuine day out with the margin to get home on her own terms.
Everything above deck on the Ghost Air is built to be used, not just looked at.
A carbon T top with a fitted bimini shades the helm and the social space behind it, while four stowable frame poles rig additional cover over the bow sofa whenever the sun moves. That sofa is C shaped and wraps around an adjustable centre table, built to shift between dining and lounging without rearranging furniture. The console carries a genuine outdoor galley, a refrigerator, sink, barbecue and glass rack, all built into the same clean surfacing that runs the length of the deck. It is a boat designed around being outside, and every fitting on her exterior earns its place by making that easier.
The sundeck is the real cabin aboard the Ghost Air.
A full beam sundeck with a central passage runs much of her length, giving guests a clear route from bow to stern without climbing over each other or the furniture. Forward, the bow sofa and its adjustable table turn into a genuine dining space at anchor, shaded by the stowable frame poles when the afternoon sun gets low. Aft, the T top and bimini keep the helm and immediate social space cool underway, a detail that matters as much on a short coastal run as a full day out. It is a deck built for a full guest list of eight, with room to move between company and quiet without ever feeling crowded.
Below deck, the Ghost Air keeps its promise of genuine comfort rather than a token berth.
A single cabin sleeps two, built around a forward berth that uses the full width of the beam rather than tapering into the bow the way smaller day boats often do. The bathroom alongside it offers 1.90 metres of headroom, enough for an adult to stand and move without stooping, a detail too easily skipped on a boat built primarily for daytime use. It is a compact footprint by design, there to support a day and a night aboard when the plan calls for it, not to compete with the open deck above for attention. The balance between the two is exactly where Frauscher wants it.
Recognition followed the Ghost Air quickly, and the specification explains why.
She measures twelve metres in length on a 3.5 metre beam, with a displacement of 8,500 kilograms and a draught of 0.9 metres, and carries 850 litres of fuel alongside 150 litres of fresh water for days spent properly away from a marina. The Design Innovation Award she won in 2023 recognised exactly the thinking that defines her, an open, sociable deck built without sacrificing the engineering Frauscher is known for. Built entirely in house, from naval architecture through to engineering, she needs no crew to run and asks nothing of an owner beyond time on the water. For a day boat built around being outdoors, she is difficult to better.
