She trades a little top speed for a little more room to breathe.
Built on the same single step hull as her SE sister, with a 45 degree bow entry and wider strakes to help her onto the plane early, the FE cruises at 30 knots and reaches 45 at the top end. It is a more measured pace than the SE’s 52 knots, matched to a Yamaha F350 V8 as standard power, with Mercury Verado 400 or Suzuki DF350A offered where an owner wants to tailor the balance of range against speed. A 0.9 metre draught keeps the shallows open to her, and 1,136 litres of fuel carry 300 nautical miles of range, enough for a full day on the water and the trip home with margin to spare.
Her profile reads as open rather than enclosed.
A traditional composite T-top shelters the helm, and the forward entry through the windshield itself keeps the console open to the deck rather than closing it behind glass, the choice an owner makes when the boat should feel like one continuous space. The wraparound windshield carries its own electronic wiper and washer, widened freeboard runs the length of the side decks, and a dive door folds clear over the gunwale aft without eating into the cockpit. Forward, rod lockers disappear behind the bow backrests, keeping the whole foredeck uncluttered until the tackle actually comes out.
Twelve guests for the day, and somewhere for every one of them to sit.
The U-shaped forward lounge seats convert at the touch of an electric button, raising the backrests so guests face forward under way, and an insulated cooler sits beneath the double chaise alongside two floor hatches for anything else that needs to disappear. Aft, a full length bench seat folds away when the cockpit needs to work rather than lounge, revealing livewells with viewing windows and a baitwell set into the sole. Owners can add a sink, grill, cutting board and ice maker to the same deck, so the twelve guests she carries for the day never have to choose between swimming, fishing and eating.
Below the forward entry, she still keeps a cabin worth using.
A single cabin below the forward console holds a berth for two, with a head alongside fitted with a pull out shower, sink and its own storage cabinets rather than a shared, cramped space. It is a modest footprint set against the acreage on deck above, but it means the FE is never purely a day boat: an overnight stop, a rest out of the sun, a change of clothes before guests arrive, all have somewhere proper to happen. She runs without crew, which keeps the whole layout in the owner’s or captain’s hands rather than shared with anyone else aboard.
She is built by the same in-house team, to the same standard, as every Intrepid in the range.
Design, engineering and construction all sit with Intrepid’s own in-house team, the same group responsible for every model in the Nomad line, which keeps the FE consistent with her siblings in build quality even where her layout differs. At 10.5 metres length overall and a 3.2 metre beam, she occupies the same footprint as the SE but turns it toward comfort and guest capacity rather than outright speed. For an owner whose priority is a sociable day on the water with a genuine place to retreat to, the 345 Nomad FE is the more accommodating half of the pair.
