Fifty knots from a boat you can still sleep aboard.
The 41 Panacea’s single step hull aerates the running surface at speed while keeping the structure stiff underneath, a configuration Intrepid has refined over three decades of outboard performance boats. Three strakes soften the impact of a head sea, and a hard chine both controls spray at pace and settles her when trolling for fish. Standard power comes from twin Mercury 600hp V12 outboards, with cruise at 35 knots and a top speed of 50. Owners who want more can specify triple Yamaha 425hp XTO Offshore or quad Mercury 400hp Verado power instead. An 1,800 litre fuel capacity gives a range of around 400 nautical miles, enough for a full day offshore and the run home.
She reads as a sports boat from every angle, and behaves like one too.
Each hull is custom built to its owner’s specification using an all resin infused construction process, which keeps weight down and stiffness high. The single step running surface and deep forward entry give her a lean, purposeful profile at rest, while a low cabin top and a wide, open cockpit keep the lines uncluttered from bow to transom. The hard chine that controls spray underway also draws a crisp edge along the hull side, visible the moment she comes alongside. It is a shape built around function, yet it carries itself with the kind of confidence that turns heads at the dock.
Everything above deck is built to move seamlessly from fishing to entertaining.
Twin sun pads sit atop the cabin for guests who want to do nothing at all, while wraparound forward seating folds around a retractable high low table for lunch at anchor. Wide walkways lead forward without a single obstruction underfoot. Aft, the cockpit seating retracts completely when the rods come out, clearing the deck for serious offshore work, then folds back for an evening at the dock. A protected outdoor galley, fitted with a grill, refrigerator, sink and ice chest, means the day never has to end just because the fishing does. Twin bait tanks, deep fish boxes and a generous spread of rod holders confirm the fishing brief was never an afterthought.
Below deck, she trades size for intent.
Two cabins and a V berth sleep four, with headroom of 1.9 metres that makes the space feel larger than the hull length suggests. A head with a separate shower and a mini galley for drinks and light meals round out the accommodation, enough for a genuine weekend aboard rather than a few hours at anchor. A 9kW generator runs the air conditioning when the sun gets serious, and a Seakeeper 4 gyrostabiliser comes as standard, settling the ride at rest as much as it does underway. For a yacht built around speed and fishing, the overnight comfort is a deliberate and welcome addition, not an afterthought bolted on beneath the deck.
Built to order, not off a line, the 41 Panacea is a yacht shaped around one owner at a time.
Naval architecture, exterior and interior design all come from Intrepid’s own in-house team, continuing a tradition of engineering led design rather than outsourced styling. Engineering carries the Intrepid Engineering credit throughout, from the resin infused hull to the deck hardware. At just over twelve metres, she carries twelve day guests and four overnight, with a crew free layout that keeps her simple to run and easy to own. The standard twin V12 outboard package, upgradeable to triple or quad configurations, gives an owner real choice over how much performance they want to carry home. Few 41 footers offer this particular combination of outright speed, genuine overnight accommodation and a fishing pedigree built in from the keel up.
