Twenty-five knots at cruise, thirty-five flat out.
The KL 34 FB comes standard with twin Volvo Penta D4-300 diesel power, with twin Mercury or Yamaha 300hp outboards offered further up the options list for owners who prefer the outboard set-up shared with her smaller sisters. Either way, the numbers stay the same: 25 knots at cruise, 35 at the top, and a 1,000 litre tank stretching the range to 250 nautical miles, enough for a full day’s cruising along the coast and back without a fuel stop. A deep deadrise at the transom keeps her settled once she is up on the plane, and a bow thruster is available to make close quarters work in a marina berth a one-handed job rather than a two-person one.
She wears a T-top and a curved windscreen where a flybridge might otherwise sit, and the difference sets the tone for the whole boat.
The T-top itself carries an adjustable windshield, full or partial depending on the weather, and sits over a helm finished in a two-tone dash with room for the latest electronics. Forward, a wide sunpad with an angled backrest and plenty of concealed storage takes up the bow, while teak lines the cockpit sole and swim platform right through to a portside dive door with a fold-out boarding ladder finished in teak treads. Stainless fittings, an electric anchor winch and navigation lighting round out a deck built as much for arriving somewhere as for getting there.
The cockpit is built to entertain first and cruise second.
An L-shaped aft lounge wraps around a built-in galley module, complete with a stainless steel sink, a two burner electric grill, a fridge and an ice maker, so a full afternoon on the water rarely needs a trip below for supplies. Twin high-backed helm seats with flip-up bolsters flank an armrest fitted with its own storage, and the cockpit continues in teak from sole to swim platform. With day capacity for up to ten guests, the layout favours groups who want to spend the day moving between sun, shade and the water rather than sitting still.
Below deck, the KL 34 FB keeps a genuine cabin rather than a token one.
A midcabin stateroom takes a queen or twin bed configuration with just over two metres of headroom, lit by opening ports, while a forward dinette converts from a seating area into a second berth for four sleeping in total across two cabins. Walnut flooring and cabinetry carry through the space, and the head, finished in teak inlay, offers enough headroom to stand and change in comfort rather than crouch. It is not a boat built around the cabin, but the cabin is built well enough that an owner would happily use it.
A sporting profile, a real cabin and a price under 350,000 euros new. The KL 34 FB is positioned to be an easy yes.
At 10.5 metres length overall on a 3.3 metre beam, with a shallow 0.9 metre draught, she carries a 7,000kg displacement and a single crew member is enough to run her comfortably. Naval architecture, exterior and interior design all come from Key Largo’s own in-house team, with engineering handled by the Key Largo Engineering Department, the same structure behind her larger and smaller siblings across the range. For an owner moving up from a smaller day boat, or looking for a second yacht that needs no crew quarters and little fuss to operate, she is a considered, well specified place to start.
