More Yachts / More 40
The More 40 distils everything the Dugopolje yard has learned about building fast, likeable boats into a 12.5-metre package that is as happy on an ORC start line as it is swinging to anchor in a quiet Adriatic bay. Drawn by Maurizio Cossutti with engineering by Leo Ćurin, the hull is moderately beamy at 4.00 metres, powered up with 2,440 kilograms of ballast in a 2.38-metre keel, and kept light at a 7,000-kilogram displacement thanks to a vacuum-infused laminate braced by a stainless-steel frame and carbon reinforcement.
Under sail the numbers tell the story: a 53-square-metre mainsail and 52-square-metre genoa drive her upwind, while a 123-square-metre spinnaker opens up the reaches, and she carries both ORC and IRC ratings for owners who want to race her honestly. A Yanmar 30 (22 kW) on a saildrive takes care of harbour work, drawing on a single 180-litre fuel tank, with 300 litres of fresh water aboard.
Below, three cabins sleep up to eight across a 6+2 berth layout, with the forward cabin, a roomy saloon and a galley that works at sea. Owners choose between a one- or two-heads arrangement depending on whether the boat is set up for cruising comfort or stripped for performance. It is a genuinely dual-purpose 40-footer: quick enough to satisfy, forgiving enough to cruise, and small enough that a couple can manage her alone. Built to order in Croatia, the More 40 is offered from around €275,000 excluding VAT.

Light and stiff, the More 40 is built to be sailed hard: a vacuum-infused hull over a stainless-steel frame with carbon reinforcement keeps displacement to 7,000 kg, and 2,440 kg of ballast on a 2.38 m keel gives her the stability to stand up to her 53 m² main and 52 m² genoa. A 123 m² spinnaker handles the downwind legs, and dual ORC/IRC ratings let owners race her on even terms.
Cossutti’s hull is clean and purposeful — a plumb bow, moderate 4.00 m beam carried aft, and a flush, uncluttered deck that keeps sheets and controls close to the twin wheels. The cockpit is laid out for a working crew without losing the space a cruising couple wants at anchor.
Below, three cabins and a 6+2 berth layout sleep up to eight, arranged around a bright saloon and a seagoing galley. Owners choose a one- or two-heads configuration, trading a little volume for performance or vice versa.
Twin wheels, a deep secure cockpit and a wide transom that opens to the water make the More 40 as pleasant at anchor as she is underway, while the single-level side decks keep crew safe when it is time to work the rail.
Each More 40 is built to order in Dugopolje, near Split, with a 180-litre fuel tank, 300 litres of water and a Yanmar 30 saildrive as standard. Pricing starts at around €275,000 excluding VAT for a 2027 build.
