Nautitech / Nautitech 41 Type S
Nautitech built its name in Rochefort on catamarans that sail rather than merely float, and the 41 Type S is the clearest statement of that yet. Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group drew the platform around a single idea: take weight out. Fine, elongated hulls, reverse bows that stretch the waterline, a compact coachroof and an aft-stepped mast carried in the hardtop all serve that end, and the boat comes in at 9.6 tonnes empty, among the lightest in the 41-foot class.
The rig is sized to use that lightness. A square-top mainsail of 72.5 square metres works with a 47 square metre genoa for 119.5 square metres close-hauled, and a 116 square metre gennaker extends the range downwind. The mast stands 20.15 metres above the waterline.
Inside, a fully glazed aft bulkhead is the piece owners notice first. It opens the saloon to a 360 degree view and pushes daylight deep into the boat. Materials are chosen for weight as much as appearance: lightly textured woods, technical fabrics in sand and ivory, mineral-toned wall finishes.
Layout is where the boat argues its case. Two-cabin and three-cabin plans are both offered, and the SmartRoom converts rather than commits. Pre-wiring and planned technical routes are built in, so systems can be updated later without heavy surgery. Christophe Chedal Anglay handled the interior.
