Palm Beach PB65 For Sale

The Palm Beach PB65 is a 21.9-metre Downeast motor yacht that distils more than three decades of Australian craftsmanship into a fast, frugal and beautifully finished cruiser. With a commanding 5.83-metre beam and the timeless lobster-boat silhouette that has defined the marque since its founding, she delivers the interior volume, sea-keeping and range of a far larger yacht while retaining the elegance and intimacy that owners prize. Offered in both Sedan and Flybridge configurations, the PB65 adapts gracefully to relaxed family cruising, serious offshore passage-making and polished entertaining, making her one of the most versatile yachts in her class.

At the heart of the PB65 is Palm Beach’s proprietary V-WARP Technology, a warped semi-displacement hull form laid up in high-grade E-Glass with epoxy resins and extensive carbon fibre, structurally fused to the deck, bulkheads and superstructure to create a hull that is at once light, stiff and exceptionally strong. The fine forward sections and carefully tuned running surfaces combine to give a soft, dry and remarkably level ride, together with the fuel efficiency that has become a Palm Beach signature. Standard twin Volvo Penta IPS 1200S engines of 900 horsepower carry her to a top speed of around 37 knots and a comfortable 30-knot cruise, with a range approaching 933 nautical miles. Owners seeking more may specify the optional twin IPS 1350S of 1,000 horsepower, or twin Volvo D13 shaft drives for those who prefer conventional propulsion.

Below decks the PB65 accommodates up to six guests across three well-proportioned staterooms, served by generous heads and a bright, elegant saloon finished in the hand-crafted timber joinery that lies at the centre of the Palm Beach identity. The single-level main deck unites the galley, dinette and helm with a deep, sociable cockpit through wide sliding doors, dissolving the boundary between inside and out. Expansive glazing floods the interior with natural light and keeps the sea in constant view, while thoughtfully planned storage and systems make extended time aboard effortless.

On deck, the PB65 rewards both the hands-on owner and the entertainer. Wide, secure side decks lead to a practical foredeck, the cockpit opens easily to the swim platform for watersports and boarding, and the optional flybridge adds a commanding second helm and additional lounging and dining space for sunlit days at anchor. Generous fuel and water capacity support genuinely extended cruising, and the open, flowing layout is designed equally for quiet family weekends and confident offshore work in demanding conditions.

Designed by founder and champion ocean racer Mark Richards, the PB65 channels a lifetime of competitive sailing into a sophisticated, confidence-inspiring motor yacht. Each hull is built factory-direct and individually finished to the owner’s specification under Richards’ hands-on supervision, ensuring that every PB65 is a genuinely bespoke yacht rather than a production boat. For those seeking the hallmark Palm Beach blend of speed, economy, sea-keeping and craftsmanship in a capable and elegant mid-size package, the PB65 stands among the most accomplished Downeast cruisers afloat, as composed on a long ocean crossing as she is on a quiet coastal weekend.
