Forty five knots is a serious number for a 13 metre boat with two proper cabins below.
The standard twin Volvo Penta D6-400 diesels drive her to a 35 knot cruise and a 45 knot top end, numbers that owe as much to TecnoRib’s twin step hull as to the horsepower on the transom. Mercury Verado 450R outboards or the uprated Volvo Penta D6-440 diesel are available as options, for owners who want more still. A 0.9 metre draught keeps shallow anchorages and tight harbour moorings within reach, while 1,000 litres of fuel gives a 200 nautical mile range at cruise speed, enough for a full day of running between the Riviera’s ports without a second thought about the tank.
The tread graphics running down her tubes are not applied afterwards, they are drawn into the identity from the first sketch.
Mannerfelt Design Team, the naval architects and exterior designers behind the wider Pirelli range, gave the 42 a twin step hull and a low, purposeful sheer that reads as sport boat rather than cruiser. The P Zero Edition dresses that shape in Mild Grey hard top and Orca Carbon Black tubes, with Silvertex Aluminium cushions picking up the metallic theme across the deck. A hardtop shelters the helm and mounts the audio system overhead, while sunpads forward and aft and a convertible cockpit backrest that folds into a dining table give her the flexibility to switch between a day of running and an evening at anchor.
Below deck, two cabins for four guests turn a day boat into something that can genuinely stay out overnight.
Sergio Beretta’s interior design gives the accommodation a calmer register than the sport boat above, a place to sleep off a long day on the water rather than a cramped afterthought. Eight guests can be carried for day trips, with four staying aboard overnight across the two cabin layout, and a single crew member is enough to run her. The proportions stay honest to a 13 metre hull, but the choice to include a real second cabin rather than a single berth sets the P Zero Edition apart from sportier open boats of similar length that sacrifice accommodation entirely for deck space.
Two hundred nautical miles at cruise is enough to make her a genuine cruising proposition, not just a marina boat.
A 1,000 litre fuel tank behind the standard Volvo Penta diesels supports a 200 nautical mile range at the 35 knot cruise speed, figures that reflect a boat built to actually go somewhere rather than simply look fast at the dock. The diesel option trades some of the outright drama of the Mercury Verado 450R outboards for efficiency and lower running costs, a trade many owners in this size bracket are glad to make. Combined with the shallow 0.9 metre draught, she can cover real distance along a coastline and still tuck into anchorages that keep deeper draught yachts offshore.
The P Zero Edition asks a fraction of the price of the yard’s larger models for the same design conviction.
Built in Italy by TecnoRib to a 7.5 tonne displacement, she carries a 13 metre length overall on a 3.8 metre beam, structured around the twin step hull that defines the wider Pirelli range. Naval architecture and exterior design both come from the Mannerfelt Design Team, with Sergio Beretta handling the interior and Pirelli’s own engineering team overseeing the build. New from the yard at 650,000 euros, she sits well below the yard’s larger models on price, while keeping the branding, the tread pattern livery and the performance pedigree that give the range its identity. For a first step into the Pirelli world, she is a precise, well specified choice.
