Pod drives do more than push her forward.
The LX43 comes with twin Volvo Penta IPS600 pod drives as standard, stepping up to IPS650 or IPS800 for an owner who wants more top end. Joystick control and independently steering pods make close quarters work, docking, holding position against a current, turning in her own length, far easier than a transom hung outboard ever allows. At cruise she holds 25 knots, and she will push to 35 at the top of her range, with 300 nautical miles on board before a refuel. A small diesel generator and a lithium battery bank keep the air conditioning, the Seakeeper gyro and the galley running on their own power at anchor, so a quiet night does not mean a running engine.
The bow tells you this is still a bowrider at heart.
Forward seating wraps around a proper dining table, with a fill in cushion that turns the whole area into a sunpad for the afternoon. Aft, the cockpit opens into terraces that fold out from the hull, widening the entertaining space well beyond her 4 metre beam once she is at rest. A hardtop shades the helm and the aft seating, and the swim platform carries underwater lighting built into the hull itself, a detail more associated with motor yachts twice her size. The overall effect is a boat that looks, and functions, like an open day boat until the moment she needs to become something more.
Below deck, the LX43 earns her place among proper cruisers.
A full beam stateroom sits amidships, the most stable position on the boat, with twin berths that combine into a king using an insert and headroom generous enough to stand comfortably. Forward, a U-shaped settee in the forepeak converts to a second berth, lit by a skylight and large windows that keep the space from feeling enclosed. A separate head includes a proper shower with a textured floor for bracing underway. Across her two cabins she sleeps four in genuine comfort, with day capacity for eight when she is simply out for the afternoon, more accommodation than most 43 footers in her class attempt.
Everything aft of the helm is built around entertaining.
The cockpit seating folds out into a table that comfortably seats six to eight for a meal underway or at anchor. A galley runs along the port side, with two electric grills, a deep sink and twin refrigerators, enough to cater a full day on the water without a single trip back to a marina. A single walk through on the port side links helm to bow, keeping movement around the boat simple even with a full complement of day guests aboard. One crew member is enough to run the boat and look after guests, keeping her practical for an owner who wants to cruise without a large crew.
The LX43 is built by a yard that designs everything in house.
Regal’s own design and engineering teams are behind the hull, the systems and the interior, a single point of accountability from naval architecture through to the galley fit out. The standard twin Volvo Penta IPS600 pod drives can be specified up to IPS800 for an owner who wants more speed in reserve, and the lithium power system extends her independence well beyond a single afternoon at anchor. With two cabins, sleeping four, day capacity for eight and a single crew member aboard, she sits at a size where many owners choose to run her themselves. For a buyer who wants genuine range and overnight comfort in a 43 foot hull, she is a straightforward, well resolved choice.
