Twin outboards, outboard confidence. Few 34 footers back it up this convincingly.
Standard twin Mercury Verado outboards rated at 300 horsepower give way, as an option, to a pair of 400s, lifting her top speed to 40 knots and settling her cruise at a brisk 28. A 757 litre fuel tank supports a 300 nautical mile range, useful reach for a boat most owners will use for day trips that occasionally become weekends. Outboard power also means a draught of just 0.9 metres, shallow enough to nose into water that keeps most 11 metre boats well offshore. A bow thruster is standard and an optional joystick docking system brings big boat ease to the marina. The 34 LX does not pretend to be an offshore cruiser. She is honest about what she is, and very good at it.
The hardtop and windshield read as one continuous shape, and that decision defines everything else about her deck.
A walk through windshield leads forward to a bow with chest high bulkheads on each side, turning what is usually a perch for two into a genuine seating area with a semicircular lounge and six drink holders. A sunroof cut into the hardtop and a centre pane that flips back keep air moving through the cockpit without resorting to full air conditioning, though that is available as an option. Below the waterline, a full fibreglass structural grid filled with foam forms the backbone of the hull, built to keep noise and vibration down at speed. Individual tooling for the stringer system and resin infused hatches point to a build process more exacting than her size might suggest.
Everything is within reach, and nothing feels crowded.
A doublewide helm seat to starboard carries thruster controls and twin chartplotter displays, with a second seat to port set beside a full standing height head, a rare inclusion at this length. Forward, beyond the walk through windshield, a semicircular lounge wraps the bow with six drink holders and an integrated sound system built in rather than bolted on. Storage is worked into the structure throughout: a locker beneath the forward seat, a centreline floor locker, and a flexible space under the helm reached through a removable jump seat. Little here feels like an afterthought.
By late afternoon, the cockpit has already become the main room on board.
A sink, refrigerator and flat screen television sit opposite a bench with a foldable table, and the transom seatback slides forward into a sunpad when conversation gives way to lying back and watching the coastline. A shade panel extends from the hardtop to cover the whole space when the sun gets serious. Below, a single cabin sleeps two, enough for the night that runs later than planned rather than a cruising itinerary of its own. Up to twelve guests can spread across bow and cockpit during the day, which is really what this boat is for.
At around 400,000 euros new, she is the most accessible way into the Tiara range, not the most compromised.
Standard twin 300 horsepower Mercury Verado outboards can be upgraded to 400 horsepower units for owners who want the full 40 knots on tap. An optional Seakeeper gyro stabiliser and joystick docking bring genuine comfort and ease of handling to a boat this size, both worth specifying for anyone planning regular use rather than occasional outings. Designed and engineered in house by Tiara’s own team in Holland, Michigan, the 34 LX carries the yard’s usual attention to construction quality down to a boat built for Saturdays as much as for longer cruising. She asks little and gives back a great deal.
