SOUTH is a Custom Line Navetta 33, a three deck motor yacht built for the kind of slow, level cruising the Navetta line is known for. Delivered in 2020, she spends her summers in the bay of Naples and along the Amalfi coast, and she is shaped for exactly that water: a long white hull just over 33 metres, a wide 7.5 metre beam and stabilisers that hold her steady at anchor and on passage. She is not a fast boat and does not pretend to be. Her appeal is space, quiet and the easy rhythm of a yacht that treats the journey between anchorages as part of the holiday.
Eleven guests sleep in five cabins. The owner takes a full beam suite forward on the main deck, with windows down both sides, a seating corner and a private bathroom, a room with the light and the volume of a proper stateroom rather than a cabin. Below are a VIP double, further guest doubles and a twin, each with its own bathroom, a layout that works equally well for one family or two or three couples travelling together. A crew of seven runs the yacht from service areas kept well clear of the guest spaces, so the accommodation stays calm and private through the week.
The main deck is built around one long, light salon in warm timber and cream. Soft seating gathers around a low table at the aft end, where full glass doors slide open to the shaded aft deck and let the room run straight out to the sea. Forward, a separate dining table sits under the same timber ceiling, framed by large windows that keep the coast in view through dinner. A quieter sky lounge on the upper deck gives the group a second inside room, with a sofa, a media wall and its own light for a film or a call away from the main salon.
Outside, SOUTH gives her guests several clear places to settle. The heart of the yacht is the aft deck plunge pool, set into the main deck with cushioned seating around it and the Faraglioni of Capri framed past the rail, a place to cool off in the middle of the day without launching a tender. The upper deck aft carries a shaded dining table and lounge seating under the hardtop, open to the breeze on both sides, and the foredeck is kept private for anyone who wants to be away from the group with nothing ahead but open water.
A tender and a spread of watersports gear come with the yacht, launched off the swim platform for guests who would rather be in the sea than beside it. The whole interior is carried in the same warm timber and cream, so the cabins and the living spaces feel of a piece, and the low engine and vibration levels the Navetta range is built for keep her quiet at rest and under way. She reads as a calm, considered yacht rather than a showy one, which is precisely the point of the type.
Her home waters are among the finest in the Mediterranean. Naples, Capri and Ischia sit within an easy run of one another, the Amalfi coast unfolds from Positano to Amalfi and Ravello, and the Pontine islands lie a short passage to the north. With her volume, her stabilised ride and her balance of shaded and open deck, SOUTH suits a family or a group of friends who want to take that coast slowly, moving from one anchorage to the next and letting the yacht itself set the pace of the week.
