SALUZI is a 69-metre motor yacht built by the Australian shipyard Austal, delivered in 2003 and completely rebuilt between 2012 and 2014 into the vibrant, beach-house-inspired charter yacht she is today. Conceived as a former cruise vessel and reimagined for private charter, she remains one of the largest and most distinctive yachts based in Asia during the winter season, with a shallow draft that lets her venture close to coral reefs and shorelines most superyachts of her size simply cannot reach.
Her name comes from a mystical warhorse belonging to the Tang Dynasty Emperor Taizong, and artwork by Li Jiwei adorning her hull offers a modern interpretation of that ancient tale, a fitting symbol for a yacht that blends Eastern story with thoroughly Western design. Miami-based studio Luiz de Basto created an interior that feels closer to a hip, sun-soaked hotel than a traditional superyacht: bold colours, original modern art and an open, beach-club atmosphere run throughout her five voluminous decks.
SALUZIu2019s scale sets her apart from almost every other yacht on the charter market. She sleeps up to 32 guests across 16 cabins, including two master suites on the bridge deck, each with its own private salon, plus seven VIP suites split across the upper and main decks and a further seven well-appointed double cabins. This kind of capacity makes her a natural choice not just for very large family groups, but for corporate retreats and milestone celebrations, with up to 250 guests able to be hosted when she is alongside in port.
The main deck functions as SALUZIu2019s social heart. A formal dining room transforms by night into a professional karaoke lounge for impromptu talent shows, while a private office and additional lounges give the space genuine flexibility. The upper deck adds a large salon, a fully equipped gym and a beauty salon, and guests gather on the bridge deck at sunset for cocktails and canapes around a piano bar lounge, drifting between sumptuous sofas and high tables that feel more like a chic rooftop bar than a yacht.
Her sun deck is where SALUZI truly delivers on her resort ambitions: two Jacuzzis, expansive lounging and sunbathing space and an open-air cinema beneath the stars give every evening a different rhythm. A vast beach club opens directly onto the water, anchoring a toy collection that includes jet skis, Seabobs, paddleboards, kayaks, Mirage water bikes, scuba equipment and even a golf driving range with eco-friendly balls, all suited to her certified PADI dive centre and RYA training credentials.
Powered by twin MTU engines and fitted with an advanced stabilisation system, SALUZI cruises comfortably at around 11 to 16 knots depending on conditions, prioritising stability and comfort over outright speed. A crew of up to 34, roughly half dedicated to food, beverage and hospitality service, ensures a guest-to-crew ratio that few charter yachts of any size can match. SALUZI splits her calendar between the Mediterranean in summer and the Indian Ocean, Arabian Gulf and Southeast Asia in winter, giving large groups year-round access to one of the most genuinely unique charter experiences afloat.
