LADY KATHRYN V is a 61-metre Lurssen motor yacht that occupies a special position in the charter fleet as the last of the 60-metre Lurssen series and the youngest of her kind. Designed on the exterior by Espen Oino and on the interiors by Adam Lay Studio, she was delivered in 2011 to owners who had participated closely in every detail of her creation, and the depth of thought that went into her design is apparent from the first step aboard. Her defining characteristic is a series of distinct, intimate spaces rather than the open-plan layouts typical of yachts her size, a choice that makes her feel considerably larger than her 61 metres and gives guests a genuine sense of discovery as they move between decks. A three-storey atrium clad in honey onyx forms the architectural centrepiece, rising through the heart of the yacht and connecting the living levels with a glass elevator alongside the central staircase. The main salon opens to a formal dining space that can be completely enclosed for private seated dinners of up to 12, while a stunning Steinway baby grand in the salon adds quiet character to the room. The bridge deck skylounge converts into a private cinema at the touch of a button with blackout blinds and privacy doors, and full-service bars on two decks ensure guests never need to go far for refreshments. The sundeck is home to LADY KATHRYN V’s remarkable full wellness space: guests step out of the lift into a serene white-tiled foyer and pass through individual doors into a fully equipped gym, a sauna and a steam shower, each in its own dedicated room for optimal privacy. A Jacuzzi, sundeck sunpads, hammocks and chaise lounges complete the deck, with a sky deck above offering a large sunpad and an open lounge that feels like the top of the world. Accommodation spans six staterooms for 12 guests, led by a full-beam master suite that ranks among the most thoughtfully designed on the charter market. Reached through a private study and library, the suite features a grand desk, a comfortable salon, a master bedroom with a custom king-size bed, and his-and-hers bathrooms accessed through respective walk-in closets. Behind panelling in the bedroom lies the master’s signature feature: a secret sea terrace, a concealed private balcony with unobstructed ocean views that is perfect for morning coffee or quiet aperitifs. A VIP cabin on the bridge deck enjoys premium views, and four lower-deck doubles all feature double vanities and peaceful waterline outlooks. Served by a crew of 16, including rotational captains who have been with the Lady Kathryn programme for 35 years, LADY KATHRYN V cruises the Mediterranean in summer and heads to the Caribbean for winter. The tender garage of LADY KATHRYN V is an engineering achievement in its own right, with hull doors on either side housing a diverse collection of watercraft and toys for time on the water. The beach club at water level expands with an inflatable pool, trampoline and an extensive array of toys, ensuring the days at anchor are as active or as restful as guests wish. At 61 metres with a 7,000-nautical-mile range, LADY KATHRYN V has the capability for extended blue-water passages, and her crew of 16 are as adept at planning remote expeditions as they are at delivering a seamless social week in the Balearics or the Cyclades.
