PETITCHET is a 21 metre Bluegame BG74, an Italian motor yacht delivered new in 2024 and one of the most interesting production designs of her size afloat. The BG74 is a crossover, a boat that pairs the open, sea level main deck of Bluegame’s BG range with a proper flybridge from the sportier BGX line, so she gives the airy, close to the water feel of a day boat with the shade and the extra deck of a flybridge yacht. For a couple or a small family who want a quick, modern boat that lives large for her length, with six guests across three cabins, she is a sharp and easy choice.
Her point of difference is the way she opens up. The main deck is arranged around light and movement, with a long window down the salon, glass doors aft and a layout that lets guests drift between the air conditioned inside and the open deck without ever feeling they have left one space for another. The flybridge above extends the day higher still, with sun, shade and a long view over the anchorage, so the whole yacht is set up to move easily between sun and shelter through a hot Mediterranean afternoon.
She is also built to move. A quick planing hull lets her cruise comfortably in the low twenties and reach higher when asked, yet she stays level and easy enough for the group to talk on deck underway. That turn of speed is the point of her: a long run between islands becomes a short one, so a week aboard can take in more of the coast without ever feeling rushed, with time to swim before lunch and reach the next bay before the light goes.
Inside, the design is light and current. The main salon is bright and modern in pale timber, a long sofa gathered under a wide window that keeps the sea close, opening aft to the shaded cockpit at anchor. Forward, a convertible lounge sits around a table that folds away, a relaxed second inside space with a screen on the bulkhead, and the interior helm sits ahead of it with the sea through the windscreen, so the yacht can be run in comfort and shade when the group is aboard for a longer passage.
Accommodation is for six guests across three cabins, all with their own bathrooms. The master is a bright double set low in the hull with a hull window at the waterline, the VIP takes the bow under a pair of portholes, and a further guest cabin completes the layout, all finished in the same warm, pale timber. The mix suits two or three couples travelling together, or a family who want the children comfortable in a cabin of their own, with the master giving the lead couple real space.
Her home water is Mallorca and the Balearics, and she is well matched to it. From the calas and clear water of the north coast across to Menorca and the anchorages of Ibiza and Formentera, the islands sit close together, the water is a clean turquoise and the harbours come alive after dark, while her speed makes the crossings easy. She carries a generous spread of water toys for her size, launched off the stern the moment the anchor is down, and with her open main deck, her flybridge and a crew of two, PETITCHET offers a modern and easy way to cruise one of the finest grounds in the western Mediterranean.
