About OASIS

OASIS makes a case that has quietly gone out of fashion: warmth. While most of the charter fleet has moved to pale oak, white lacquer and glass, she stays in figured cherry — honey-toned panelling running the length of every deck, brass fittings, cream upholstery, and light that lands soft rather than bright. Walk aboard at six in the evening and the interior does something the newer boats cannot.

ISA built her in Ancona in 2006 to a Walter Franchini design, and she came out of her most recent yard period with the interiors refreshed rather than replaced — the right decision. At 47.5 metres she carries twelve guests across six cabins, which puts her at the practical end of the market: large enough for two families, small enough to slip into the Greek and Croatian anchorages that a 60-metre has to admire from outside.

The layout is the part charter brokers point at first. The master takes the main deck, well forward of the salon and with real windows rather than portholes. The VIP sits a full deck above it, on the bridge deck, which is unusual at this size and means the two principal cabins never share a stairwell or a corridor. Four further cabins below — doubles and a twin — complete the six. Bathrooms run to onyx and marble with gold-tone fittings, in keeping with the rest.

Two salons do the social work. The main one runs long and low with sofas down both sides and windows almost the full length; the skylounge above takes a wide sectional, a screen and its own staircase, and catches the afternoon. Between them, a formal dining room seats ten under cherry panelling. Aft, the covered deck holds a twelve-seat table that becomes the best room on the yacht once the sun drops — lantern-lit, open on three sides, with the ensign snapping just behind.

She is set up for long, still days at anchor. Stabilisers work at zero speed as well as underway, which is the single specification that most affects how a week actually feels. The sundeck carries a circular jacuzzi under a wide parasol, sunpads either side and a second dining table forward. Below that, the transom garage opens onto a floating platform where the crew stage a 6-metre Castoldi jet tender, two Sea-Doos, two Seabob F5 S units, a Lift eFoil, kayaks, wakeboards, four sets of water skis and a three-seat banana. Five full sets of dive equipment and an onboard compressor mean certified guests dive from the yacht rather than from a day boat.

Nine crew look after twelve guests. She works the East Mediterranean and the Adriatic through the summer, adding the Middle East in winter, and her Greek base shows in the itineraries — Aegean island-hopping is what she is set up for and what she does most weeks.

At her weekly rate she sits below most 45-metre yachts, let alone the rest of the 47-metre bracket. For a group who would rather spend the difference on the season than on the joinery fashion of the moment, that is the whole argument.
