At 53.9 metres, Ravenger is the largest full carbon composite sloop afloat. She launched in 2017 as Pink Gin VI, drawn by judel/vrolijk and co, and came back to Baltic Yachts in 2023 for a nine month refit that changed both her look and her purpose. Her new owner had bought a cruiser that already logged more than 20 knots in cruising trim, and wanted that performance sharpened.
The rig, sailplan and sailing systems were rebuilt for more power. The headstay was replaced, running backstays with a deflector fitted, the bow modified and the bowsprit extended by 1.5 metres. New winches give faster line speeds at lower weight. On deck the hardtop bimini was restyled by Aivan with Finnish designer Jarkko Jamsen, the helm pedestals rebuilt to a bespoke pattern and a second bimini added above them.
Design Unlimited handled the interior. The two level saloon was reconfigured, the piano area became a breakfast bar, and finishes across the guest areas moved to dark stained oak with new cabinets, ceiling panels, bookshelves and floorboards. The fold-out balcony platforms in the saloon and owner cabin, a first on a sailing superyacht when she was built, were kept. Noise control was reworked with new interior bedding mounts and a new ceiling panel fastening system.
She sleeps twelve guests in six cabins with eight crew, and a telescopic keel takes draft from 4.5 to 7 metres. She has hardly ever raced. That is likely to change.
