Baltic Yachts has spent five decades proving a single idea: a lighter yacht is a better yacht. Founded in 1973 in Jakobstad on the Ostrobothnian coast of Finland, the yard turned early to advanced composites and never looked back. Carbon fibre engineering now sits at the centre of everything it builds.
Each Baltic is a one-off. Owners arrive with a naval architect and a brief, and the yard translates both into a hull that is stiffer, lighter and quicker than convention allows. That approach has produced boats as different as the 175ft Pink Gin, the record-setting My Song and the foil-assisted 111 Raven, yet the engineering discipline behind them is the same.
Weight control runs deeper than the hull. Baltic builds its own lightweight joinery, integrates tanks into the structure, and designs systems installations to cut noise and vibration before a yacht ever touches water. Much of that work is never seen by a guest, which is rather the point.
The workforce is local, drawn from a region where boatbuilding has passed through generations, and the yard now pairs that craft with hydrogeneration, lithium-ion propulsion and its GREENER sustainability programme.
