Baltic 121 Alice For Sale

Alice was ordered for family cruising over long distances, and every decision on her follows from that. Malcolm McKeon drew a 37 metre blue water performance cruiser with an all-carbon structure, a telescopic keel and a sail plan generous enough to keep her moving when the breeze thins.

Her owners asked for proven technology rather than novelty. Systems on board are chosen for reliability and ease of service, because a yacht that spends months away from a support network cannot afford clever solutions that need specialists. That single constraint disciplines the whole specification.

Above deck the superstructure is mostly glass. The all-glass deckhouse gives 360 degree views from inside, and the light it admits changes how the interior reads at anchor. A fixed bimini shades the cockpit without the fuss of a folding structure.

Adam Lay Studio designed the interior, developing the nature-led approach that runs through the studio’s work: clean lines, muted wood tones, textural fabrics balanced against each other. Practicality and longevity were the stated priorities, which on a family boat means surfaces that survive a decade of use rather than a season of photographs.

Draft swings from 4.15 metres to 6.40 metres on the telescopic keel, so harbours stay reachable without giving up upwind ability. Light craft mass is 108 tonnes with 35 tonnes of ballast. Delivered in 2026, Alice reflects current Baltic thinking on the large cruising sloop.
