About MUCHOS MAS

Canada builds very few superyachts, and MUCHOS MAS is among the largest of them. Launched by Crescent in 2016 and refitted through 2025, she runs to 43.9 metres and 491 gross tonnes, with an interior of warm walnut and dark timber floors that owes more to the Pacific Northwest than to any Mediterranean house style. Glazing reaches almost to the deckhead along both sides of the main deck, so the saloon reads as one long, bright room rather than a series of compartments.

She is built around water, and she carries two spa pools rather than the usual one. The sun deck pool is the social one: a waterfall falls into it from the deck above, and a glass panel set into the outer wall lights the water from the deck alongside. Seating and a champagne trough are built into the surround, so nobody has to climb out. Forward, sheltered by the superstructure, a second jacuzzi is set into the foredeck inside a private lounge of sun pads and settees. It is the quietest space on board, and it is the reason she works for two families chartering together. There is always somewhere else to go.

Aft of the sun deck pool the crew rig an open-air gym: heavy bag, suspension trainer, free weights and mats laid on teak, with the tender crane and the jetskis alongside. At sea level the beach club opens onto a floating dock that extends the deck onto the water, a projector screen drops against the transom for films after dark, and boarding stairs run down both quarters. She cruises the Bahamas through the summer and adds the Caribbean in winter, and her 2.3-metre draft reaches anchorages that deeper yachts of the same volume have to admire from outside.

Inside, the main deck runs saloon to formal dining, both looking out through the same tall windows, with a bar and stools set between them for the hours in between. A sky lounge above is the informal room: deep sofas, a large screen, armchairs turned outboard. The galley is worth the detour. A hydroponic herb garden grows behind glass in a lit cabinet beside the range, cut to order rather than flown in, which tells you most of what you need to know about how this boat is run.

Accommodation is for eleven guests in five cabins. The master is the largest, with a private sitting area alongside the berth, a study to one side and a shower room in pale stone and glass. Two further doubles carry king berths and en suites of their own. Two more convert between double and twin, the same room made up either way, which is what lets her take a family one week and two couples the next. An additional berth brings her to eleven, an unusual number and a useful one.

Nine crew run her. She is not available for charter to US residents while in US waters. For everyone else she is a rare thing: a genuinely custom yacht from a yard that launches a handful in a decade, cruising the shallow water of the Bahamas at a price that buys far less boat elsewhere.
