About Lady Beth

LADY BETH belongs to a different era of yachtbuilding, and she wears it well. Newcastle Shipyards delivered her in 2011 at 1,100 gross tons, a figure that buys volume most 55-metre yachts simply don’t have, and a 2017 refit kept every surface current without touching the dark mahogany paneling and gold-lit ceilings that give her the feel of a proper ship rather than a styled-up runabout. Murray & Associates drew the naval architecture; Claudette Bonville’s interior leans into rich wood, jewel-toned upholstery and genuine artwork rather than the pale minimalism most new builds default to.

Two full master suites anchor the accommodation plan, one forward on the main deck, a second on the bridge deck, each with its own sitting area, walk-in closet and marble en-suite bathroom finished in warm stone rather than the usual white. Four further staterooms, split between king and twin-double configurations to port and starboard, sleep the rest of a twelve-guest party without anyone drawing the short straw on space. Every cabin runs full ensuite, several with a whirlpool tub set into a bay of curved windows.

The main salon runs formal by design: a chandelier-lit dining room seats twelve beneath an inlaid compass medallion that repeats in the marble foyer floor underfoot, while the adjoining salon keeps deep sofas and museum-hung art for the quieter hours between meals. Up top, the sky lounge doubles as a private cinema, four reclining theatre seats face a screen ahead of a full sofa arrangement, with its own bar and a wall given over to yacht memorabilia. Step through the doors and an al fresco dining table picks up the same view under open sky, ringed by a U-shaped lounge built for a full afternoon.

Outside, the sun deck carries a forward jacuzzi shaded by its own canopy and a proper bar for sundowners, while aft, LADY BETH’s tender garage converts into a genuine beach club, teak decking, direct sea access and enough room that “beach club” isn’t a euphemism for a glorified swim step. The water toy inventory matches the scale of the rest of the boat: two Seabobs, two eFoils, paddleboards, kayaks, a waterslide, an in-water AquaBana pool and gazebo lounger, and a 43-foot Everglades chase tender with four 450hp engines for guests who want real range rather than just a splash.

A crew of thirteen runs LADY BETH’s programme across the Bahamas and the US in summer, repositioning to the Caribbean and back to the Bahamas for winter, a rotation built around calm water and short hops rather than long open-ocean transits. Zero-speed stabilisers keep the ride steady at anchor, and an elevator serves every interior deck, useful on a yacht built with the generous ceiling heights her volume allows. For a charter party drawn to genuine scale, formal entertaining spaces and a beach club that earns the name, LADY BETH offers something increasingly rare in a fleet that trends younger and paler by the year: real weight, real wood, and a layout built when volume meant something.
