The Swan 128 is the largest production yacht Nautor Swan has drawn, and project number 1400 for Frers studio, which has worked with the Finnish yard for four decades. German Frers describes it as the Swan idea of a sporty cruiser: a boat for long ocean passages that can enter a serious regatta without changing a thing.
The hull is 38.98 metres of pre-preg carbon over a Corecell core, with a plumb stem, twin internally mounted spade rudders, a drop-down transom that opens into a bathing platform and a tender garage forward of it. Displacement is 122,800 kg light against 39,500 kg of ballast, and the standard fin draws 4.70 metres. A 550 hp diesel with a variable pitch propeller handles harbour work, backed by two 32 kW generators.
Lucio Micheletti shaped the semi-raised deckhouse, keeping the volume light without giving up the shelter a Swan cockpit is expected to provide. The cockpit keeps the three-part division common to the range, with the forward section under a sprayhood and bimini for guests.
Below, Misa Poggi and the yard interiors department place the owner suite forward and the crew aft, with four guest cabins for eight and accommodation for five crew. Owners choose from five interior moods and a wide palette of woods, leathers and textiles, so no two hulls need read the same.
