The Swan 73 answers a question Nautor Swan has been circling for four decades: how much cruising comfort can a genuinely fast hull carry without losing its edge. German Frers drew her, and the proportions show it. A slim hull, a balanced sailplan and twin rudders give the boat a light, predictable feel at the helm, whether the crew is pushing hard upwind or simply covering distance with the family aboard.
Luca Ardizio Design shaped the deck around an offset companionway and an asymmetrical cockpit, a layout that keeps sail handling clear of the living space. Running rigging is integrated into the structure, so a reduced crew can work the boat without the deck turning into a workshop, and twin helms hold the sightlines open.
Below, Blend Studio worked with the Nautor Swan interior team on a bright, contemporary space in Canaletto walnut, softened by light fabrics and large windows. The standard arrangement places the owner forward in a full suite, with two en suite guest cabins and a flexible crew area aft. A four-cabin plan is available for owners who need the extra berths.
Two keels are offered: a 3.20 metre fixed fin, or a telescopic version lifting to 2.80 metres for shallow harbours and dropping to 4.25 metres when the racing programme demands it. For a buyer weighing a performance cruiser against a pure racer, the Swan 73 declines to make that a choice.
