Ten guests on a thirty six metre yacht is a deliberately generous ratio. Most hulls at this length are certified for twelve, so taking ten means five proper cabins rather than a pullman berth folded down in a twin, and a crew of six or seven looking after a party small enough to eat at one table.
Four yachts hold this combination. ALLORA, a 2011 Benetti of thirty six metres, and Back 9 and a Half, a 2017 ISA of the same length, sit either side of Away, a thirty seven metre Sanlorenzo from 2009, and Harun, a thirty seven metre Huzur Yat delivered in 2015. All four are motor yachts and all four run five cabins. Every one carries al fresco dining aft and a jacuzzi on the sun deck.
Weekly rates run from ninety five thousand euros for Harun to one hundred and twenty thousand for Away, with ALLORA and Back 9 and a Half both at one hundred and ten thousand. That is a narrow band by charter standards, and refit history rather than length explains most of the gap. Add an advance provisioning allowance of roughly thirty percent for fuel, food, berthing and drinks.
Three of the four work the western Atlantic. Away and ALLORA charter the Bahamas, and Back 9 and a Half adds Florida in spring and New England in late summer.
