Four cabins at forty metres is a deliberate choice rather than a compromise. Eight guests occupy a hull built to carry twelve, so the cabins are larger, the lower deck lobby is not squeezed, and the saloon does not have to seat a crowd. At around one hundred and thirty one feet this is space bought for comfort instead of headcount.
Ten yachts hold this configuration and seven of them are sailing yachts, which makes it the most sail heavy layout on the charter fleet. Alloy Yachts has two with Genevieve and Miss Silver, and Vitters, Fitzroy, Bayards, Sunreef and Ada Yatcilik take one each. Alhambra, Indiana and RH Three are the motor yachts. Most take eight guests, a few stretch to nine or ten.
Weekly rates run from fifty five thousand euros to one hundred and fifty thousand, with the median close to eighty five thousand and most of the fleet between seventy five and ninety nine thousand. An advance provisioning allowance of roughly thirty percent covers fuel, food, berthing and drinks. For a forty metre yacht these are unusually accessible numbers.
A sailing hull of this size wants the Aegean meltemi, the Tyrrhenian in June and the Grenadines in February. Draft is deeper than a motor yacht of the same length, so plan around anchorages rather than the smallest harbours.
