Twenty six of the thirty five charter yachts at eighty metres carry a dedicated cinema, and at this scale the room is usually purpose built rather than doubling as a lounge. Screens run four to six metres, Dolby Atmos or equivalent surround is standard, and seating ranges from deep sectional sofas to individually reclining chairs with built in cup holders. Most cinemas sit on the lower deck, fully blacked out, with acoustic isolation from the engine room.
The fleet covers every construction style. Arrow and Silver Fox are Vitters sailing yachts. Maltese Falcon, the Perini Navi three master, carries hers behind sliding panels amidships. Axioma, Boadicea and Wheels are recent Turkish builds. At the top, Sophia, Lady S and O’Pari represent full custom European yards. Twenty three of the twenty six take twelve guests, and cabins range from six to eight.
Weekly rates start at four hundred and eighty thousand euros for Saluzi and climb to one million eight hundred thousand for Sophia. The median falls near nine hundred thousand euros, with fourteen yachts chartering between six hundred thousand and one million. An advance provisioning allowance of roughly thirty percent covers fuel, food, berthing and drinks. Peak weeks are July and August in the western Mediterranean and Christmas in the Caribbean.
These yachts split their year between two basins. Summers work the western Mediterranean from Monaco through Sardinia, Corsica and the Aeolian Islands. From December, most cross to Saint Barths and the Windward Islands. Write to us with your dates.
