The town of Amalfi sits at the heart of the UNESCO-listed Amalfi Coast, a 50-kilometre stretch of limestone cliffs dropping into the Tyrrhenian Sea between Sorrento and Salerno. Charter yachts approach from the water, where the vertical geography is most dramatic, with terraced villages clinging to cliff faces rising up to 1,400 metres.
The coast stretches from Positano in the north to Vietri sul Mare in the south, with Amalfi at its midpoint offering the best deep-water anchorage. Ravello, a short tender ride above the waterline, holds Villa Rufolo and one of the Mediterranean’s finest outdoor concert stages. Capri lies 22 nautical miles northwest and forms the natural bookend to most Amalfi circuits.
At 200,000 euros per week Amalfi charter yachts are flagship superyachts of 60 metres and above with a crew of ten to twelve and every on-board amenity. The advance provisioning allowance of around 60,000 euros covers all fuelling, provisions and exclusive berthing. Availability at this level is limited to a small number of vessels globally.
The season runs from May through October. July and August are peak months, when the coast sees maximum demand and the narrow coastal road becomes impassable. Arriving by yacht sidesteps land traffic entirely and ensures direct access to coves and beaches closed to day-trippers.
